RedHawks Win Third Straight MAC Men's Swimming and Diving Championship

OXFORD, Ohio – The Miami men's swimming and diving program claimed its third Mid-American Conference Championship as the RedHawks scored 755 points en route to secure the title. Head coach Hollie Bonewit-Cron was named MAC Men's Swimming Coach of the Year, also for the third year in a row.
 
The final day of competition kicked off with the 1650 freestyle. Evan Kindseth finished second for Miami, earning a program top-five time of 15:38.02. Also in top eight, Frye placed fifth 15:47.67 and Nick Barrows placed eighth 15:56.57. Also for RedHawks, Yonatan Rosin finished 10th with a time of 16:01.78.

Blazer crushed the Miami program record in the 200 backstroke, earning second place and a time of 1:45.48. Also in championship finals, Bann earned fifth with a time of 1:47.20. In the 100 freestyle, Herczeg placed fifth in championship finals with a time of 44.48.

Dulay earned both a top-five program time for the RedHawks and a NCAA B cut qualifier in the 200 breaststroke, finishing third with a time of 1:57.95. Also in championship finals, Ben Eichberg turned in a program top-10 time and finished fourth (1:58.93). Another top-five time was picked up by Duvenhage in the 200 butterfly, where he earned a NCAA B cut qualifying time of 1:44.08. Cotton landed in fourth (1:47.05) and Frye came in eighth (1:54.43) to round out championship finals.

Finals for the 3 meter dive saw a sixth-place finish from Victor Hearn, who totaled 277.10 points.

In addition, senior diver Paige Kalik collected a fourth place finish on the 3-meter board with  305.90 points.

The RedHawks A relay team of Herczeg, Mason Miller, Djokovic and Duvenhage closed out the MAC Championships with the 400 freestyle relay placing fourth, with a combined time of 2:58.53.
