MAC Announces Swimmers and Divers of the Week

MAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week
Pawel Krawczyk, Missouri St 
Senior, Warsaw, Poland
During Saturday's meet against Evansville, Bellarmine and UIC, Krawczyk recorded two first-place finishes in individual events, winning the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:48.66 and the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:31.71. In relay action, Krawczyk was a part of the first-place 200-yard medley relay squad for the Bears, winning the event with a time of 1:31.16. Krawczyk's success in the pool propelled the MSU men's swimming and diving team to a sweep of its competition, defeating the Purple Aces, Knights and Flames in dual action.

MAC Men’s Diver of the Week
Porter Brovont, Ball State
Freshman, Greentown, IN
Porter Brovont gave Ball State a boost with his 1st place finish in 1M Diving with a score of 301.30 that places him at 10th all-time in program history. It was also an NCAA Zone Diving qualifying mark. Brovont finished his day placing second in the 3M diving (306.50).
 
MAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week
Gabrelle Brust, Ohio
Junior, Granville, OH
 Junior Gabrielle Brust helped lead the Bobcats this past weekend in a commanding 197-97 victory at Marshall on Friday. Brust opened the night in the 200-yard medley relay, helping the Bobcats’ ‘A’ team finish first with a time of 1:43.54. Brust then returned to earn a first-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly, touching in with a time of 2:04.28. She picked up another first-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly finishing with a time of 56.32. In her final event of the evening, Brust was the lead off in the 400-yard freestyle relay, where the Ohio ‘B’ team placed second with a time of 3:31.99

MAC Women’s Diver of the Week
Victoria Franz, Buffalo 
Senior, Buffalo, NY
At the UB Diving Invite this past weekend, Franz finished first in both the 1-meter and 3-meter dive, setting a new UB school record in the 3-meter dive with a score of 356.40, breaking the previous record which had stood for 13 years. Franz also finished in second place in the platform dive.
