MAC Announces Swimmers and Divers of the Week

MAC Men's Swimmer of the Week
Owen Blazer, Miami
Sophomore, CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA. (SENECA VALLEY)          
Owen Blazer started his competition with a win in the 200 yard medley relay. He led off Miami's A relay with a 22.97 in the 50 yard backstroke. Owen then picked up his first individual win as the only man to get under :50 seconds in the 100 yard backstroke that day. He won the event with a time of 49.95. Blazer earned his second individual win as the only man to break the 1:52 mark in the 200 yard backstroke, with a time of 1:51.89. He closed the meet out with a 21.19 anchor leg in the 200 yard freestyle relay.
                                                                                                                                                            
MAC Men's Diver of the Week
David Burke, Miami
Freshman, SAINT LOUIS, MO
David Burke took home wins on both boards this weekend. His winning score on 3 meter 325.13, qualified him for Zones. Burke scored 275.63 total points for the win on platform.
                                                                                                                                                
MAC Women's Swimmer of the Week
Nicole Maier, Miami
Sophomore, BOTTROP, GERMANY (WILLY-BRANDT-GESAMTSCHULE)
Nicole Maier opened with the fastest 50 freestyle split of the race at 23.35 to win the 200 yard medley relay. Nicole followed up with her first individual win of the day with a time of 2:03.05 in the 200 yard butterfly. After the second break, Maier brought home first in the 400 yard individual medley with a time of 4:23.64. Two heats later, Nicole was back on the blocks for the 200 yard freestyle relay, where she posted the fastest split of the meet with a 22.73. Maier was 4 for 4 this weekend against Xavier.
                                                                                    
MAC Women's Diver of the Week
Ashleigh Provan, Ball State
Freshman, Gahanna, Ohio (Gahanna)          
Freshman diver Ashleigh Provan continued her impressive debut season, winning both the 1M (252.00) and 3M (275.10) competitions in Saturday’s dual versus UIndy. Provan, who has achieved a NCAA Zone Diving Cut on both boards already this season, is a six-time event winner so far this season.
