MAC Announces Week 2 Swimmers and Divers of the Week

MAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week
Jackson Oostman, Valparaiso, Freshman
Dual meet at Green Bay. Also swam leadoff for both the 200 medley relay and the 800 free relay 'A' teams. One first place finish and one second place. In the 100 Breast stroke he earned 1st place with a time of 1:00.53 and in the 100 freestyle, he earned second with a time of 48.38.
 
MAC Men’s Diver of the Week
Jackson Miller, Miami, Sophomore
Jackson Miller earned top-three finishes in multiple events at the Miami University diving team's traveling meet to IUPUI. The sophomore took second in the platform dive event, earning a score of 327.53, and third in the 1 meter dive, earning a score of 295.35, landing just 0.53 points behind the second place finisher.
 
MAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week
Abby Daniel, Akron, Freshman
Sophomore Abigail Daniel had an outstanding showing at the second meet of the season as Akron defeated Buffalo 165-134 at Oliver J. Ocasek Natatorium. Danielplaced first in every event in the water, including a pair of relay touches for first and an individual gold medal. She was a member of the 200-yard medley relay team that posted a 1:42.09 winning time with her 23.90 butterfly time. She also swam the third-leg of the 400-yard freestyle relay, clocking a 51.34 en route to the team’s 3:25.17 time. Daniel’s individual winning performance came in the 100-yard butterfly as she posted a 54.72 time.
 
MAC Women’s Diver of the Week
Keira Veltigan, Eastern Michigan, Freshman, Highland Village, TX.
Veltigian led EMU to a sweep on the diving boards over Toledo as Veltigian earned a score of 250.88 in the 3-meter dive to capture the top spot, while placing second in the 1-meter dive with a score of 250.73.
