Danny Hall Named to 2026 College Baseball Hall of Fame Class

OVERLAND PARK, Kansas - Former Kent State baseball head coach and Miami alum Danny Hall was named as a member of the 2026 College Baseball Hall of Fame Class, as announced by the College Baseball Foundation this afternoon.

One of the most accomplished and respected figures in college baseball, Danny Hall built a legacy defined by sustained excellence, player development and championship-caliber performance over nearly four decades as a head coach. Inducted into the American Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2024, Hall retired ranked ninth all-time in career wins with a record of 1,452-793-1 (.647), including a remarkable 1,244 victories during 32 seasons at Georgia Tech.

As head coach of the Kent State baseball team from 1988-1993, Hall led the Golden Flashes to back-to-back MAC regular-season and MAC Tournament championships in 1992 and 1993. Hall posted a 208-117 (.604) coaching record in six seasons, with his 1992 club recording a program-best 45-13 mark, the school record for victories in a season. During his tenure, 18 players were chosen in the MLB Amateur Draft, with five former players going on to play in the major leagues. Hall coached fellow inductee Mike Bishop in 1988 and former Kent State coach Scott Stricklin.

Hall lettered in baseball at Miami from 1974-77. A 1977 co-captain, he garnered second-team All-MAC honors as a junior and senior, earning the team's Golden Glove award as the top fielder both seasons. During his senior campaign, the second baseman hit .325 after batting .358 his junior year. Danny was a member of Miami's 1974 MAC championship team and the 45-15 1977 team that each advanced to the NCAA Tournament.

Hall was inducted into the Kent State Athletics Hall of Fame in 2005 and Miami's Cradle of Coaches in 2006.

As head coach at Georgia Tech, he guided the Yellow Jackets to 25 NCAA Tournament appearances and the program’s only three College World Series berths (1994, 2002, 2006). His teams consistently performed at an elite level, winning nearly 65 percent of their games and capturing nine ACC regular-season or divisional titles and five ACC Tournament championships. A five-time ACC Coach of the Year, Hall’s leadership elevated Tech into a national powerhouse, with six No. 1 national rankings and a school-record 52 wins in 2002.

The 19th induction class will be honored at the 2027 Night of Champions presented by Prairiefire on February 11, 2027, in Overland Park, Kansas, the home of the College Baseball Hall of Fame
