PHILADELPHIA - Four former Mid-American Conference baseball student-athletes were selected on the final day of the 2026 MLB Draft on Sunday.

- Ethan Stade, Bowling Green, LHP: Atlanta Braves (18th Round, Pick 532)
Berggren was named a 2026 First Team All-MAC selection at relief pitcher. This season, he pitched 44.1 innings in 25 appearances for Miami, securing three wins and seven saves as a closer. The senior sent down 61 batters on strikes this year and led the team in ERA (3.65) and opponent batting average (.244).
Scholvin was a First Team All-MAC selection in 2026, with a .360/.488/.522 slash line, 82 hits, 18 doubles, five home runs, 50 RBIs and 68 runs scored. He was walked or hit by a pitch 60 times to just 21 strikeouts and stole 25 bases. The 68 runs scored were third-most in a season in program history. Scholvin had 29 multi-hit games, 13 multi-RBI games and had the team's longest hitting streak in 2026, at 16.
Among the MAC rankings in 2026, Scholvin led the league and was tied for fourth in the nation with 31 hit by pitches. Scholvin was also second in runs scored, fourth in stolen bases and hits, fifth in doubles and sixth in on-base percentage (.488). He was also tied for first in the country in 2025 with 34 hit by pitches.
Mally becomes the 12th Bronco to be selected in the MLB Draft during the tenure of head coach Billy Gernon
and the 116th all-time selection from WMU. Mally is the first Western Michigan player drafted by the Giants since Pat Misch in 2003.
A native of Lisle, Ill., Mally won the NCAA Division I batting title this season with a .446 batting average, Western Michigan's highest average since 1965. He also finished second in the nation in on-base percentage with a .554 mark, and set WMU single-season records for both on-base percentage and hits (87).
The junior's eye-popping numbers led him to becoming the first Bronco to be named an All-American since 2017, earning All-America accolades from both the NCBWA and the College Baseball Foundation. He was also selected as a semifinalist for the Dick Howser Trophy, which honors the nation's top player, and tabbed ABCA Midwest All-Region, All-MAC First Team and All-MAC Defensive Team.
Stade was the 532 overall pick and continues a streak of three consecutive seasons a Falcon has been drafted. Stade joins two-way player DJ Newman,
who was selected 456th overall to the Houston Astros in the 15th round of the 2025 MLB Draft, and outfielder Nathan Archer, who was selected 349th overall to the Chicago White Sox in the 12th round of the 2024 MLB Draft.
Stade is the first pitcher selected from Bowling Green since Ross Gerdeman in 2011. It also marks the first time BGSU has had a player selected in three consecutive drafts since 2009-11 when the Falcons had four players selected over a three-year span.
Stade is coming off an incredible senior campaign with the Falcons, working to etch his name across the Bowling Green baseball record strikeouts section. He tallied 103 strikeouts, becoming the third Falcon in program history to reach triple-digits in one season, finishing the season third on the single-season leaderboard while ranking 21st in the nation. Additionally, Stade averaged 14.5 strikeouts per nine, sixth in the nation. He struck out six or more in each of his last nine outings, as well as 10 of his last 11, including a season-high 15 in his final home start, the most strikeouts by a Falcon in over 25 years.
