TICKETS PUNCHED: Flashes, Eagles Earn NCAA Women's Golf Regional Selections

INDIANAPOLIS — The NCAA Division I Women's Golf Committee has announced the teams and individuals selected to participate in the regionals of the 2026 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championships. Two programs from the Mid-American Conference earned their place among the nation’s best teams as the Kent State Golden Flashes and Eastern Michigan Eagles saw their names called.

The Kent State Dr. Paula Treckel women's golf team received its regional placement for the 2026 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championships, and the Golden Flashes will head to Chapel Hill, North Carolina, as the No. 5 seed in the Chapel Hill Regional.

The Chapel Hill Regional will take place May 11-13 at the UNC Finley Golf Club.

Following their 27th straight conference championship at the 2026 Mid-American Conference Championship, the Golden Flashes will look to build on their seventh-place finish at the 2025 Columbus Regional. 

The field at Chapel Hill includes top-seeded Texas, No. 2 seed and host North Carolina, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, Virginia, Michigan State, North Carolina State, High Point, Furman, Richmond and Howard.

Kent State is the highest-ranked conference champion in the Chapel Hill Regional. High Point won the Big South, Furman won the Southern Conference, Richmond won the Atlantic 10 and Howard won the Northeast Conference.

For the first time in program history, the Eastern Michigan University women's golf team will play in an NCAA event as the Eagles were selected as an at-large participant for the 2026 NCAA Tallahassee Regional that will be played May 11-13 at Seminole Legacy Golf Club in Tallahassee, Fla. Eastern is seeded fifth in the 12-team regional with a berth into the NCAA Women's Golf Championships on the line.

After finishing second at the 2026 Mid-American Conference Championships, April 26-28, at Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio, the Eagles remained among the national top 30 and earned a berth into the regional competition for the first time as a team and the second consecutive year with an Eastern player in the regional round as Savannah de Bock (Ecaussinnes-d'enghien, Belgium/Institut de l'Enfant-Jésus-Lycée/Georgia), who placed third at the MAC event, competed in the 2025 NCAA Columbus Regional as an at-large qualifier, marking the first time an EMU woman competed in the national event.

Eastern has already played on the host course after competing in the Florida State Match Up, hosted by Florida State University, March 20-22, with the Eagles finishing in second place at 4-over 868 while host FSU took the title at 4-under 860 on its home course. Eastern was 1-1-0 in the FSU event against teams it will see in the regional tournament with the win coming over the University of North Florida, who finished seventh at 29-over 893.

Regional play will take place May 11-13 at six regional sites, with 396 participants and each site featuring 12 teams and six individuals. The top five teams (30 teams total) and the low individual not on an advancing team (six individuals total) from each regional site will advance to compete in the national championships to be played May 22-27 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California. Championship play will be hosted by Texas, with the final three days of the championships televised live by the GOLF Channel.
