Temple Varsity Eight Wins Boat of the Week Honors

The Temple Owls Varsity Eight took home the 2026 Kelly Cup on Saturday as they topped fellow Philadelphia programs. The Varsity Eight, coxswained by Sofia Henningsen, swiftly crossing the finish line in first place. The Owls timed out at 6:39.10 in a cross-head wind and secured the Kelly Cup by 5.5 seconds, ahead of the second place Saint Joseph’s Hawks. The Kelly Cup belonged to the Owls after a dominant open-water performance.

Eastern Michigan's 1V8+ rowed to a 6:49.6 in the Ford Lake Cup, April 25. Eastern narrowly edged its previous season-best time of 6:52.92 set at the Knecht Cup. The Eagles' 6:49.6 finish is the top finish by an EMU boat since the Green and White came through in 6:37.3 in last season's Ford Lake Cup.
 
High Point’s 1v8
In round two on Friday afternoon, the 1v8 boat finished ahead of Lehigh and Old Dominion with a 7:02.670 time to cap off the Panthers’ first day at Lake Wheeler. In round three on Saturday morning, the 1v8 recorded its fastest time of the year so far with a fifth-place finish, ahead of West Virginia and Lehigh, crossing in at 6:49.920 for its strongest finish of the regatta. 1v8: Genevieve Alexander, Grayson Wiliams (Coxswain), Anna Venditti, Saige Wiggins, Riley Verner, Audrey Houle, Annabelle Everding, Avery Falor, Kate Concepcion.
