Bowling Green Falcons
The BGSU tennis team continued their season on Friday and Saturday (Oct. 2-3) at Toledo's Rocket Invitational. Teams competing in the tournament were Bowling Green, Youngstown State, Dayton, and host Toledo. The Falcons excelled in doubles play, picking up five total wins while also winning eight singles matches.
Lucia Gaio went 3-1 in singles play while
Libby Blair went 2-1.
Konstantina Adamopoulou and
Richardlyne Francois also picked up wins for the Falcons.
In doubles, Adamopoulou and Francois went 3-0, while the Shelton/Taylor and Blair/Gaio duos both went 1-1.
Overall, Adamopoulou had five wins over the two days, with Gaio earning four.
The Falcons return to action Thursday (Oct. 8), taking part in the ITA Regional in Champaign, Ill.
Toledo Rockets
The Toledo women's tennis team continued its strong fall tournament action by posting an overall record of 26-2 in the Rocket Invitational, hosted at the UT Varsity Tennis Courts.
The Rockets went 14-1 on the first day of competition and concluded the tournament with a 12-1 mark on Saturday.
Six Rockets posted undefeated records throughout the weekend, led by
Anastasia Akuginova,
Annika Munson and
June Vigneron who each totaled 5-0 records.
Isabella Barretto and
Jone Ibanez also turned in 3-0 records on the weekend.
Vigneron, competing in her first home tennis action, tallied singles wins over Bowling Green, Dayton and Youngstown State. In doubles action, she partnered with Barretto to take down BGSU's Shelton/Taylor and Dayton's Shelton/Taylor. Akuginova and Munson also earned singles wins over all three opponents and went 2-0 in doubles action.
Toledo will take a few weeks off before returning to action at the Mid-American Conference Individual Championships on Friday-Sunday, Oct. 23-25 in Kalamazoo, Mich.
Western Michigan Broncos
EAST LANSING, Mich. -- The Western Michigan women's tennis team competed at the ITA Spartan Invite over the weekend, competing against DePaul, Eastern Michigan, Marquette, Northwestern and hosts Michigan State.
Ella Fitcher and
Ayana Yaguchi paired up for a couple of wins on the weekend. They opened with an 8-5 win over DePaul's Roberta Sechi and Helin Alvarez. Their second win came against EMU's Iva Daneva and Matilde do Canto Parreira , 8-4. The duo also took on MSU's Nina Plihal and Nora Syrtveit, falling 8-1.
Sienna Osborne and
Mahika Khanna teamed up for an 8-5 win over MU's Ayiana ABbot and Kate Thorne. They dropped a matches to MSU's Plihal and Syrtveit, and Eastern Michigan's Daneva and Do Canto Parreira.
Chi Pei Ho and
Frida Weijerman went 2-1. After opening with an 8-5 loss to NU's Aely Arai and Erica Jessel, they responded with wins against Marquette's Abbot and Thorne, 8-3. Ho and Weijerman wrapped up doubles play with an 8-4 win over EMU'z Lara Diaz Zayas and Kseniia Saenko.
Julie Hostáková and
Julia Frazier opened with an 8-5 win over the Blue Demons duo of Eleanor Cochran and Leni Prankl. They fell to NU's Katya Shepherd and Aely Aria but rebounded with an 8-5 win over Marquette's Maria Poon and Lea Holmlund.
The Broncos picked up 11 total wins in singles action. Osborne and Hostáková both reached the finals of Flight D after going 2-0.
Mahika Khanna also had two wins, going 2-1 in Flight E.
The Broncos head to the ITA Midwest Regionals before hosting the MAC Fall Individual Championships beginning Oct. 23.
Eastern Michigan Eagles
The Eastern Michigan University tennis team closed out the 2026 Spartan Invitational at the MSU Indoor Tennis Center, Oct. 2-4, with eight players competing across singles flights and doubles draws against a field that included Michigan State, DePaul, Marquette, Northwestern and Western Michigan.
The Eagles went 14-17 overall in individual matches across the three-day event, posting an 11-11 record in singles and 3-6 in doubles. Eleven of EMU's singles matches were pushed to three sets with the Eagles winning seven of those 11 matches.

Miami RedHawks
The Miami University women's tennis team opened the Hoosier Classic on Friday with singles play after inclement weather influenced a change to the weekend schedule.
Maria Komar highlighted the day for the RedHawks with a three-set comeback win over Louisville's Lika Peresypkina.

Maria Luisa Oliveira battled back for a three-set victory, while
Nina Chavez, Maria Komar and Lovisa Valentinsson also picked up singles wins.

Allie Faulkner.
Highlights
Allie Faulkner battled back after dropping the first set, winning a second-set tiebreak before closing out a 5-7, 7-6 (2), 6-3 victory over Louisville's Davis.
Maria Komar had a strong final day, teaming with
Evelyn Risner for a 6-2 doubles win over Notre Dame before earning a 6-3, 6-2 singles victory over Iowa's Schaefer. Risner added a straight-set singles win over Notre Dame's Vyrlan, and
Avery Voss defeated Indiana's Boyer, 6-3, 6-3.
Nina Chavez and
Clara Owen also picked up a 6-2 doubles win against Notre Dame.
The RedHawks will compete at the Ohio Valley Regional Championships on Thursday, Oct. 8, in Mason, Ohio. The event will run all day.
Ball State Cardinals
Facing a heavily stacked field of Power Four opponents, the Ball State women's tennis team showcased its grit and competitive spirit at the 2026 Hoosier Classic, hosted by Indiana University this past weekend.
The high-caliber, three-day tournament began Friday, October 2, and concluded Sunday afternoon at the IU Tennis Center. The Cardinals went head-to-head with elite competition from host Indiana, Iowa, Kansas State, Louisville, Miami (OH), Purdue, and Notre Dame.
Despite continuing to navigate a limited roster due to lingering injuries, Ball State battled fiercely throughout the weekend, repeatedly pushing top-tier opponents into grueling three-set matches.
The Cardinals' singles play was anchored by a pair of spectacular, three-set triumphs over Power Four adversaries.
Priyanka Rana outlasted Big Ten foe Sally Xu of Iowa in a thrilling marathon, securing a 6-1, 4-6, 7-5 victory.
Anya Tkachyk mirrored that resilient performance on the adjacent courts, knocking off Louisville's Anshika Jamaal 6-3, 2-6, 6-2 to claim a marquee win over the ACC powerhouse.
Ball State also found strong rhythm in doubles action. The dynamic duo of Rana and veteran
Sydney Hrehor teamed up for a clinical 6-4 victory over Iowa's Ida Clement and Xu. Meanwhile, the tandem of
Isabel Tanjuatco and
Noa Kosman put together a stellar weekend of their own. The duo first upset Notre Dame's Skye Madatali and Esther Vyrlan, 6-4, before carrying that momentum into a decisive 6-4 victory over Mid-American Conference rivals Maria Comer and Evelyn Rosner of Miami.
The Ball State women's tennis team will enjoy a well-deserved weekend of rest before returning to action Oct. 23–25 at the MAC Individuals in Kalamazoo, Michigan
