KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan women's tennis team welcomes Cleveland State, Grand Valley State, Oakland and Youngstown State for the annual WMU Betsy Kuhle Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
Weather permitting, matches will be played outdoors at Sorensen Courts. Matches will move to West Hills Athletic Club if weather requires play to be indoors.
Play will start at 10 a.m. both days. Friday will feature one round of doubles and two rounds of singles. The format flips for Saturday, with two rounds of doubles and one sound of singles.
Massachusetts Minutewomen
AMHERST, Mass. – For the second straight year, senior
Amelia Tye has been selected to compete in the singles competition at the ITA Women's All-American Championships on Saturday, September 19, through Sunday, September 27, at the Cary Tennis Park in Cary, North Carolina.
Tye was selected to compete in the Pre-Qualifying Round, is the only Minutewoman in program history to compete in back-to-back seasons at the All-American Championships, after playing in the fall of 2025.
Janja Kovacevic competed for the tennis program in the Pre-Qualifying Round during the 2019 season.
During the 2025-26 season, the London, England, native, registered an 11-7 overall singles record, including a 7-1 record in the Mid-American Conference. Tye competed primarily at No. 2 singles, going 8-5 overall in the slot. She also spent time at No. 1 singles, holding a 3-2 record.
Tye is one of 160 players selected to the Pre-Qualifying Singles, and the only member representing the MAC, so far.
The ITA Women's All-American Championships have featured the nation's top NCAA Division I players and have been a pioneer in women's college tennis since 1983. In addition, the event has created milestones that have directly influenced the popularity pf women's collegiate tennis over the years.
