Anumgba, Suder Selected as Scholar Athletes of the Week

The Scholar Athlete of the Week Award is presented to a MAC male and/or female student-athlete who has a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and performs well during that week's competition. An institution can nominate up to one male and one female student-athlete per week in any of that current season's sports. The winners are selected by a representative of the MAC's Faculty Athletics Representatives (FARs).

Week’s Achievements (detailed description of week’s events): Peter Suder hit a dramatic game-winner with just over a second remaining in overtime to help Miami keep its perfect season alive, capping a 37-point performance in a 105-102 win over Buffalo. For the week, Suder averaged 24.0 points (while shooting 53% from the floor), 3.0 rebounds, 2.0 steals, 1.0 assists and 1.0 blocks as the RedHawks went 2-0 —beating Central Michigan and Buffalo— and matched the best start to a season of any MAC men’s basketball team in history at 19-0.

Graduate student Patricia Anumgba scored a season-high 24 points on 10-of-14 shooting to lead Toledo to a 70-49 victory over Northern Illinois on Wednesday. Anumgba scored 17 of her points in the second half and also registered five steals and four rebounds.
