Herbet, McEachern Take Home Scholar Athlete of the Week Honors

The Scholar Athlete of the Week Award is presented to a MAC male and/or female student-athlete who has a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and performs well during that week's competition. An institution can nominate up to one male and one female student-athlete per week in any of that current season's sports. The winners are selected by a representative of the MAC's Faculty Athletics Representatives (FARs).

Week’s Achievements (detailed description of week’s events): Kaylin Herbet helped the Miami women’s swimming and diving team to victory over Oakland and Denison last weekend, producing six first-place finishes in a tri-meet in Michigan. Herbet won the 50 free, 100 free and 200 free while also capturing first place with three Miami relays (200 freestyle relay, 400 freestyle relay and 400 medley relay).

Week’s Achievements (detailed description of week’s events): Jake McEachern earned an event win for the Eagles at the Wolverine Invitational, a meet hosted by the University of Michigan Saturday, Jan. 10, as he took first place in the in the weight throw with an 18.85m (61-10.25) toss. McEachern’s 18.85m mark currently leads the MAC.
