Kent State Places Three at David Lehman ’68 F&M Open | Results
Lancaster, Pennsylvania– The Kent State Wrestling team participated in their last Team Open of the season on Friday in the David H. Lehman Open at Franklin and Marshall University on Friday against tough competition from around the country.
The Blue and Gold placed three wrestlers in the top-six after a busy two days of wrestling. Freshman
Silas Stits(149) had the highest finish, placing in second place. In a loaded bracket, Stits produced a 5-1 record, including an upset over two-seeded Richard Fedalen(Columbia) in the quarterfinals. He defeated Rawson Iwanicki in the semifinals by a score of 5-1 before being defeated by Kelly Dunnigan(Penn) in the finals.
Nick Molchak(133) earned a fourth-place finish after a 4-2 record on the day.
Brentan Simmerman(285) finished in sixth-place with a 5-2 record in the bracket after a No Contest in the Final Bout.

Lock Haven Competes at David Lehman ’68 F&M Open; Duncanson Placed 2nd at 165 lbs. | Results
LANCASTER, Pa. – Ousmane Duncanson brought home silver at 165 pounds to headline three placewinners for the Lock Haven men's wrestling team at the David H. Lehman '68 F&M Open, hosted by Franklin & Marshall on Friday, Jan. 9.
Duncanson led the way with a second-place finish, while
Nick Stampoulos (157) and
Nick Kunstek (165) placed third and sixth, respectively.
Duncanson soared to the 165 finals with a 4-0 start, including a pair of falls (6:47 & 1:46), a major decision (10-2) and a decision (4-2). Duncanson was edged out by Virginia Tech's Ryan Burton by a 7-6 decision in the championship bout.
In similar fashion, Stampoulos won four consecutive matches to reach the semifinals, before dropping a 7-2 decision to George Mason's DJ Mcgee. Stampoulos bounced back with a 9-1 major decision in the third-place bout and finished the day with two tech falls (18-3 & 21-5), a fall (1:40).
Kunstek rounded out the point scorers for Lock Haven after reaching the fifth-place round thanks to a pair of major decisions (13-5 & 15-5) and a decision. Kunstek fell to Logan Fowler (Air Force) in the fifth-place bout.
Sean Louge (133) finished 4-2 with a decision, major decision (12-0) and a pair of falls at 1:57 and 5:24.
Lucas Fye also competed at 133 and finished 2-2 with a decision and tech fall (18-2).
Hunter Gould's run to the quarterfinal round at 141 was highlighted by a 17-0 tech fall.
After falling in the opening round,
Jake Zaltsman had a strong showing at 141 where he racked up four wins and fell twice with a fall (1:58), tech fall (23-8), and a pair of major decisions (19-10 & 10-0).
Connor Heckman also competed at 141 and added a pair of wins via decision.

Lock Haven returns to action On Friday, Jan. 16 and will travel to Davidson, North Carolina to compete in the Davidson Duals against North Dakota State, Brown and Presbyterian.

George Mason wrestler
DJ McGee led the Patriots today at the David Lehman Open with a second-place finish at 157 pounds. The tournament featured 434 competitors from more than 30 teams competing at the Alumni Sports & Fitness Center on the Franklin & Marshall campus.
Top-seeded McGee (157) won five straight matches, including three with bonus points, before earning a spot in the championship. In the title match, McGee battled second-seeded Kai Owen but dropped the match by fall. The junior improved to 14-2 on the season.
Jack Kelly finished with a 3-2 at 197 pounds, while four GMU wrestlers finished with a 2-2 records;
JB Dragovich,
Anthony Basile,
Tate Hisey, and
Thomas Stofka.
The Green and Gold will next travel to Bloomsburg, Pa. for a MAC match against the Huskies, Friday, January 16 at 6 pm.
Central Michigan Splits Two Duals on Friday at the National Duals | Division I Pool A Results
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The Central Michigan wrestling team split its two meets on Friday on the opening day of the National Wrestling Coaches Association National Duals at the UNI Dome on the campus of the University of Northern Iowa.
The Chippewas (4-2) are set to wrestle three duals on Saturday. They open with Harvard (0-2) at 10 a.m. and then take on No. 8 South Dakota State (6-0) at noon. They will then wrestle a place dual meet against an opponent to be determined later on Saturday.
CMU opened with a 33-6 victory over Campbell on Friday then fell to Northern Illinois, 20-14. The CMU-NIU meet does not count in the Mid-American Conference standings. The teams are scheduled to meet in a dual on Friday, Jan. 16 in DeKalb, Ill. in a dual that will count in the league standings.
The Chippewas won eight of 10 matches with Campbell (2-6) and then took four of 10 against the Huskies (3-3).
CMU got bonus-point victories against Campbell from
Jimmy Nugent (149 pounds),
Brayden Gautreau (174),
Wyatt Ferguson (184) and
Luke Cochran (197) and decision wins from
Andrew Austin (133),
Nick Blackburn (141) and
Bryan Caves (285).
CMU's
Chandler Amaker (165) won by medical forfeit.
Blackburn's 4-1 win over Zander Phaturos came in sudden victory and it was his first of the season in a dual meet; it was also the first dual meet win for Gautreau, who posted a major decision; and Nugent's pin was his third of the season.
The loss to NIU ended a four-meet CMU win streak.
CMU freshman
Archer Anderson, wrestling in just his third collegiate dual, upset senior Blake West, 14-8, to open the meet.
West, a senior, is the defending MAC champion at 125 and two-time NCAA Championships qualifier who is ranked 25
th nationally by InterMat and 29
th by FloWrestling.
Nugent posted an 8-0 major decision victory and Amaker scored a takedown with 20 seconds remaining to break a 1-1 tie before going on to post a 4-2 win.
Cochran fell into a 7-0 deficit early in his match before surging back for a 23-11 major decision victory. Cochran, who has won 11 of his last 13 bouts, tied his match, 7-7, with an escape to open the third period, and then scored five takedowns in the period to win by major decision, his seventh bonus-point victory of the season.
That win cut NIU's lead to 17-14 with one bout remaining.
At 285, NIU's Devon Dawson posted a 7-6 win over Caves, who is ranked 32
nd nationally by InterMat. Dawson is ranked 22
nd by both InterMat and FloWrestling.
Northern Illinois Goes 2-1 on Friday Day of NWCA National Duals | Division I Pool A Results
CEDAR FALLS, IA—The Northern Illinois University Huskies wrestling squad won two of their three duals on the first day of the 2026 NWCA National Duals. The Huskies posted wins over Harvard (22-20) and Central Michigan (20-14) before falling to No. 8 South Dakota State (26-10) in the UNI-Dome on the campus of the University of Northern Iowa.
Markel Baker went undefeated in all three duals while
Devon Dawson and
Charles Curtis went 2-0 in action.
"The guys are scrapping hard and battling through challenges," said NIU head coach
Ryan Ludwig. "This is a great environment for the team to continue to grow. We need to head into tomorrow ready to go again."
In the Harvard dual, the Huskies won the first three matches as
Blake West, Baker, and Curtis put the Huskies up by 11. The Crimson of Harvard took the next three matches as they took a 13-11 lead.
Tommy Bennett battled against Ben Smith before pinning him to regain the lead for NIU. Harvard claimed the bouts at 184 and 197 pounds, taking a two-point lead into the heavyweight bout. Dawson secured his first tech fall win of the season as the Huskies won 22-20.
Central Michigan took the opening bout at 125 in the second match of the dual for the Huskies before back-to-back wins by Baker and Curtis gave NIU a 7-3 lead. The Chippewas and Huskies traded the next four bouts before as
Landen Johnson and Bennett collected wins.
Caleb Roe got a win at 184 before Dawson sealed the NIU victory at 20-14.
Baker got the first win for the Huskies at 133 pounds as he battled South Dakota State's Cale Seaton to a 4-2 decision.
Lucan O'Brien took on Logan Swensen, earning his first major decision win of the season.
Brett Smith took to the mat at 165 pounds, battling Jacob Herm. Smith had the final win of the bout for NIU, winning 11-8 as the Huskies fell 26-10 to the Jackrabbits of South Dakota State.
Baker, Curtis, Johnson, Dawson, Bennett, and
Dominic Heim took on ranked opponents in at least one bout this afternoon.

Ohio Wraps Up Day One at NWCA Nationals Duals | Division I Pool B Results
CEDAR FALLS, IOWA – The Ohio Bobcats Wrestling team wrapped up day one of competition at the NWCA National Duals on Friday (Jan. 9), facing CSU Bakersfield, Drexel, and #17 Northern Iowa in Pool B.
The Bobcats opened the duals with a 25-13 defeat of CSU Bakersfield, leaning on strong performances from redshirt junior
Derek Raike and redshirt Seniors
Sal Perrine and
Zayne Lehman. Raike and Lehman both recorded technical fall wins, while Perrine pinned CSU Bakersfield's Jeremy Manibog less than two minutes into the match to secure six points for the Bobcats.
The Bobcats dropped their second Pool B match to Drexel 37-3.
Jeremy Olszko picked up a 5-1 decision victory over Drexel's Dom Findora, and
Zayne Lehman picked up a decision victory over Drexel's Ibrahim Ameer.
Ohio dropped its final match of the day to #17 Northern Iowa, 43-0.
Up next, the Bobcats will return to the UNI Dome on Saturday (Jan. 10) to face conference foe Bloomsburg to wrap up Pool B competition, before facing an opponent to be announced. Competition will start at 11 a.m. and will be streaming on FloWrestling (subscription required).
