FLY THE FLAG: SIUE Wrestling Defeats No. 14 Little Rock

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - SIUE wrestling, also known as the 66ers, captured two dual meet victories Saturday, defeating Mid-American Conference rival Edinboro 27-5 and No. 14-ranked Little Rock 23-16.

SIUE improved to 7-1 and 1-0 in the MAC as a team. Edinboro fell to 3-4 and 0-1 in the MAC. Little Rock is now 3-7 in dual matches.

Marcel LopezCaleb TyusDominic LopezDeron Pulliam and Bryson Buhk all recorded double wins on the day.

Lopez earned a major decision in the Edinboro match while Brock Woodcock posted a technical fall against the Fighting Scots. Pulliam electrified the crowd at First Community Arena with a sudden victory takedown at 184 pounds.

SIUE won the final four matches against Little Rock after falling behind in the team score. Consecutive wins from Dominic Lopez, Pulliam, Nick Nosler and Bryson Buhk pushed the 66ers over the top.

Next up for SIUE is a road MAC contest on Friday at Ohio.
