Bulls Win 12 Events While Hosting Canisius & Niagara for UB Invite | Results
BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo swimming and diving program hosted Canisius University and Niagara University for the UB Invite on Friday and Saturday in the Alumni Arena Natatorium. Although the competition was not scored, the three-session meet featured 12 event wins for the Bulls.
"We were able to use this meet to have the girls swim events that they normally would not swim," said Head Coach
Andy Bashor. "To see that and give them some excitement about trying different things is fun. We have our mid-season meet after Thanksgiving, where the girls will compete in their best events, so this was a good time and place to get out and get some really good racing in. The training they did in the past two weeks really came through."
SWIMMING DAY ONE
Ava Pauly earned the Bulls' first event win of the weekend, posting a time of 28.88 to win the 50-yard breaststroke. Pauly's time was the fastest on the Buffalo roster this season.
Pinar Donmez trailed to take second place with a time of 29.08.
Grace Rider (4th, 29.29),
Madi Tewksbury (5th, 30.02) and
Elise McCaul (6th, 30.32) gave the Bulls five of the top six finishers in the event.
Abbey Gardner continued the Bulls' momentum, taking second place in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:56.87. The time fell just shy of the program's all-time top 10 (4:55.05).
Kamilla Nemes (4th, 4:58.57) and
Bella Forsman (5th, 4:58.59) also earned top five finishes in the field of 19 swimmers.
Nicole Aguilar took first place in the 50-yard backstroke to earn another event win for the Bulls. The senior's time of 26.63 was the second fastest time on the Buffalo roster this season.
Maddy Schnelzer (2nd, 27.04) earned second place in the event.
Aguilar later posted her second event win of the evening, taking the 50-yard butterfly with a time of 25.02. The time was a season-best for the senior. Forsman trailed to take second place with a time of 25.17.
Alex Bulat (3rd, 25.78), Schnelzer (4th, 26.04),
Lillian Bailey (5th, 26.73) and
Kaley Ream (6th, 26.79) gave the Bulls all six of the top six spots in the event.
The Bulls went on to earn four of the top five spots in the 200-yard individual medley. Bailey placed second in the event with a time of 2:06.23. Donmez trailed to take third (2:06.57), with
Hattie Wasmuth in fourth (2:06.80) and McCaul taking fifth (2:07.47).
Rider (3rd, 23.95),
Amanda Jurgelon (4th, 24.11) and
Vivian Roy (5th, 24.43) all posted top five finishes in the 50-yard freestyle. Rider's time was a new personal best.
The Bulls closed out day one in the pool by taking first place in the 400-yard medley relay. Roy, Donmez, Aguilar and Forsman posted a time of 3:43.52, just shy of the Bulls' season-best (3:43.27).
DIVING DAY ONE
The Bulls continued their dominance of the diving well on the opening night of the meet, taking all seven of the top seven spots in the three-meter dive.
Adele Melamud won the event with a score of 288.15, marking the freshman's fifth win of the season.
Maggie Meyers posted a second-place finish with a score of 287.55. The performance was a personal record for the junior, beating her previous best by 25 points. Meyers qualified for the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships with the performance.
Mallory Hanna (3rd, 278.48),
Sophie Meuwissen (4th, 274.88) and
Tristan Krajcarski (5th, 264.75) also posted top five finishes.
Presley Dorsett (6th, 240.15) and
Daphne Fox (7th, 200.10) rounded out the Bulls' competitors.
SWIMMING DAY TWO
The Bulls opened day two with a win in the 200-yard medley relay. Roy, Donmez, Forsman and Aguilar posted a time of 1:42.44, just shy of the team's season-best performance (1.42.20).
Wasmuth earned second place in the 400-yard individual medley. The freshman posted a time of 4:29.44 in her event debut with the Bulls. Bailey trailed to take fifth with a time of 4:34.52, putting two Buffalo swimmers inside the top five.
Forsman made her mark on day two, winning the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 54.93. The time was a personal record for the sophomore, who moved into ninth on the program's all-time top 10. Rider placed third in the event with a time of 57.07. Bulat (4
th, 57.14) and Schnelzer (5
th, 57.54) also posted top five placements, putting four Bulls in the top five of the event.
The Bulls went on to take three of the top five spots in the 200-yard freestyle. Gardner finished second in the event with a time of 1:50.26. The time was a collegiate personal record for the junior. Nemes (4
th, 1:52.18) and McCaul (5
th, 1:52.78) also posted top five finishes for the Bulls.
Pauly and Tewksbury continued the program's momentum in the 100-yard breaststroke, both earning top three finishes. Pauly placed second with a time of 1:02.29, moving to sixth on the program's all-time top 10. Tewksbury trailed to take third with a time of 1:05.77.
The Bulls earned the top three spots in the 100-yard backstroke, with Roy winning the event and posting a time of 56.14. Forsman earned second (56.96) and Aguilar finished third (58.09). Nemes (6
th, 58.77), Burton (7
th, 59.22) and Jurgelon (8
th, 59.32) also posted top 8 finishes in the field of 15 swimmers.
The Bulls began the third session of the meet with the 200-yard backstroke. Nemes placed fifth in the event with a time of 2:05.27.
Karen Austin also posted a top six finish in the field of 13 swimmers with a time of 2:06.22.
Forsman continued the Bulls momentum in the third session by taking first place in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 50.63. The sophomore's time was less than a second shy of reaching the program's all-time top 10 (49.90). Jurgelon trailed closely, taking third with a time of 51.94. Rider (5
th, 52.65) Gardner (6
th, 52.81), Pauly (8
th, 53.58) and Roy (54.08) all posted top 10 finishes in the field of 22 swimmers.
Tewksbury and McCaul earned top five finishes in the 200-yard breaststroke. Tewksbury's season best time of 2:20.91 was good for a second-place finish, as McCaul trailed to take third with a time of 2:22.29.
Aguilar closed out the individual events in the pool by winning the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:03.77. The event win marked the senior's third of the weekend. Wasmuth also earned a top three placement, taking third with a time of 2:05.11.
The Bulls closed out the meet by winning the 400-yard freestyle relay. Jurgelon, Forsman, Aguilar and Rider posted a season-best time of 3:24.82.
DIVING DAY TWO
The Bulls continued their domination of the diving well on day two, taking the top seven spots in the one-meter. Melamud took first place for the second time this weekend with a score of 276.90, just shy of the program's all-time top 10 for the event (278.85). The freshman has now won six of the eight diving events the Bulls have competed in. Dorsett placed second in the one-meter (266.25) and Meuwissen took third (264.45) to give the Bulls the top three spots in the event. Hanna earned fourth (264.08), Meyers placed fifth (243.53), Fox finished sixth (221.18) and Krajcarski rounded out the Buffalo divers in seventh (220.88). Across the eight diving events the team has competed in this season, five or more Bulls have placed inside the top seven, taking 49 of the top 56 spots.

Miami Finishes Strong at Miami Invitational
OXFORD, Ohio — The Miami University swimming and diving team finished strong on day four of the Miami University Invitational at Corwin M. Nixon Aquatic Center. The women's team finished in second place, as they scored 1586 points. The men finished in third place with a score of 1501 points. Other placements for the women's teams include the University of Notre Dame in first (1628), Indiana State University in third (1101), Marshall University in fourth (1037.5), the University of Indianapolis in fifth (761), Illinois State University in sixth (548.5), Valparaiso University in seventh (110) and Ouachita Baptist University in seventh (110). Other placements for the men include the University of Notre Dame in first (1778), the University of Indianapolis in second (1684), the University Ouachita Baptist University in fourth (934) and Valparaiso University in fifth (588).
How it Happened:
- The finals for day four started with the women's 1650-yard freestyle, in which Gracie Gregory led the RedHawks with a third-place finish, recording a personal-best time of 16:45.71.
- Chrisna Bezuidenhout finished second in the women's 200-yard backstroke, recording a t time of 1:54.67. Ella Ziegert claimed third (1:58.28) and Piper Prince followed just behind with a fourth-place finish (1:58.85).
- After that was the women's 100-yard freestyle where Julia Waechter (50.13) came in sixth place and Kaylin Herbet (50.25) finished in seventh place (50.25).
- The women's 200-yard breaststroke was next where Madison Watschke came in third, turning in a time of 2:14.55.
- The women's 200-yard butterfly was next where Gregory paced the RedHawks with a seventh-place finish, posting a time of 2:04.31.
- After that was the women's 400-yard freestyle relay, in which the women's A team finished second. Jenna Halliday, Herbet, Natalie Gilson and Waechter turned in a combined time of 3:21.57.

Akron Wins 2025 Magnus Cup-Finish with 1,523.5 Points | Results
CLEVELAND, Ohio - The University of Akron women's swimming and diving team dominated the 2025 Magnus Cup Invitational, winning the overall women's team title with 1,523.5 points, outpacing second-place Northern Colorado by more than 200 points.
Akron picked up significant scoring across the meet, highlighted by strong freestyle and butterfly performances as well as depth through B-finals and C-finals.
Felicia Klintemar led the Zips with multiple top swims, including second place in the 100-yard freestyle in 50.08 and a win in the 50 free A-final in 23.92.
Callie Parkes added a top-three finish in the 50 free (24.58) and later posted a 51.84 in the 100 free C-final.
Akron's butterfly group also delivered heavily.
Maggie Patterson finished fourth in the 200 fly at 2:03.14, with
Ava Withey close behind in sixth at 2:05.17.
Efthymia Mazaraki won the women's 100-yard butterfly swim-off in 58.24. The Zips' depth was evident throughout the sprint events as
Addy Soehnlen,
Ada Szwabinska,
Hannah Trainer, and others secured key points across B- and C-final appearances.
Akron also earned a podium finish in women's team diving, placing third with a score of 257.15.

UMass Swimming & Diving Finish Day Two of Terrier Invite | Results
BOSTON – The University of Massachusetts swimming and diving team finished day two of the Terrier Invitational, hosted by Boston University, on Saturday evening at the FitRec Competition Pool.
The Minutewomen sit in fourth with 545 points, while the Minutemen hold 552.50 points to rank fourth heading into day three of competition on Sunday, November 23.
The final day of the invite begins at 10 a.m. with the preliminaries, with the finals starting at 5 p.m.
Preliminaries
In the preliminaries, sophomore
Maria Grishaeva earned placement into the A Finals of the 400 individual medley with the program's second-best mark all-time of 4:22.72, placing second. Junior
Diya Ackerman-Vallala made the B Finals of the event with a time of 4:32.18 (11th), with fellow classmate
Ece Yildirim placing into the C Finals with a time of 4:41.51 (23rd).
The 100 butterfly saw sophomore
Karinne Everly place seventh with a time of 55.59, marking the seventh-best time in program history, to head to the A Finals. Fellow classmate
Courtney Tedesco made the C Finals with a time of 57.56 in the event after finishing 21st.
Junior
Beren Cakiroglu finished fifth in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:52.36 to make the A Finals, while sophomore
Hannah Schoenauer made the B Finals with a time of 1:54.16 to swim into 12th. Freshman
Flora Klimesch swam a time of 1:56.69 to place 22nd, as junior
Olga Stoura took 23rd with a time of 1:56.87 to reach the C Finals. Freshman
Anna McCarthy (1:57.63, 26th) and senior
Molly Nelson (1:58.07, 28th) also made the C Finals in the event.
Junior
Lindsay Burbage (1:03.46) and freshman
Kate Baranova (1:04.14) placed second and fourth, respectively, in the 100 breaststroke to advance to the A Finals. Grishaeva swam a time of 56.81 to finish 11th in the 100 backstroke to place in the B Finals, as Tedesco had a time of 58.10 to place 20th and make the C Finals.
Finals
Grishaeva sat atop the podium in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:18.75, breaking her own previous second ranked all-time mark she earned in the preliminary round. Ackerman-Vallala finished 12th in the event with a time of 4:30.39.
In the 100 butterfly, Everly swam a time of 55.36 to finish sixth. Cakiroglu swam into sixth in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:51.90, with Schoenauer placing 12th with a time of 1:53.09 in the event.
Baranova earned the bronze in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:03.08, marking the ninth-best time in program history. Burbage followed closely behind in fourth with a time of 1:03.11 in the event.
Grishaeva placed 11th in the 100 backstroke with a time of 56.57.
In the relays, the 200 medley relay team of Cakiroglu, Baranova, Schoenauer and Ackerman-Vallala finished ninth with a time of 1:45.26. The 800 freestyle relay Cakiroglu, Ackerman-Vallala, Schoenauer, Stoura finished seventh with a time of 7:40.00.
Ohio Swim & Dive Remains in First After Two Days of Competition
Lynchburg, Virginia – The Ohio Swimming and Diving team returned to the Liberty Natatorium for day two of the TYR '85 Invite. After the second day of competition, the Bobcats remain in first place, with
Zita Szoke and
Astrid Pichardo earning first-place finishes.
Ohio finished the day in first place with a score of 1927, followed by the hosts, Liberty, with a score of 1600, Campbell with a score of 961, UNC Pembroke with a score of 819, Saint Francis with a score of 635, California (PA) with a score of 414, Georgia Southern with a score of 154, and UNC-Asheville with a score of 59.
In the first event of the night, Pichardo earned a first-place finish in 3-meter diving with a score of 301.45.
During the swim portion of the meet, Ohio earned a second-place finish in the 4x50 yard medley relay with a time of 1:38.83.
Lily Baumgartner,
Casadie DiBetta, Szoke, and
Tori Wittenberg competed in the relay for the Bobcats.
In the 100-yard butterfly,
Jordan Claypoole finished in second place with a time of 54.23, and
Jana Macik finished in third place with a time of 55.31.
Morgan Brown and
Emily Ellsworth both finished in the top five of the 400-yard IM. Brown finished in second place with a time of 4:24.05, and Ellsworth finished in fourth place with a time of 4:26.81.
Szoke took first place in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:45.83.
Katrina Kollin finished in third place with a time of 1:51.08, and
Ashlyn Morr finished in fifth place with a time of 1:51.96.
In the 200-yard breaststroke, DiBetta earned a second-place finish with a time of 1:00.45, and Ellsworth finished in third place with a time of 1:02.79.
Baumgartner and
Melanie Schweikert both swam in the 100-yard backstroke, with Baumgartner finishing in third place with a time of 54.88 and Schweikert finishing in fourth place with a time of 55.21.
In the final event of the evening, the Bobcats' 4x200-yard freestyle relay of Kollin, Morr,
Katie Buroker, and
Anna McGrath finished in second place with a time of 7:30.03.
The Bobcats return to the pool tomorrow (Nov. 23) for the final day of the TYR '85 Invite, with prelims starting at 10 a.m. EST and finals beginning at 5:00 p.m. EST.
Rockets Finish Sixth at West Virginia Invite
MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – Toledo concluded the three-day West Virginia Invitational on Saturday evening in Morgantown, W. Va., placing sixth.
Senior
Janne Slegers had Toledo's top finish in the final day of competition, coming in third in the 100 freestyle with a time of 50.55. Along with Saturday's 100 freestyle, Slegers' fifth-place finish in Thursday's 50 freestyle and first-place finish in Friday's 200 freestyle qualified her for the CSCAA National Invitational Championship (NIC) B Cuts in March.
The 400 freestyle relay team of
Kenzie Robinson,
Janne Slegers,
Audrey Zimmerman and
Helena Pinto Coelho Lopes finished in fifth with a time of 3:25.59.
Lindsay Bright in the 1650 freestyle and
Helena Pinto Coelho Lopes in the 100 freestyle each finished 10th to round out the Rockets' top-10 placements for Saturday.
Other Toledo top-15 finishes on Saturday included an 11th-place finish for
Kenzie Robinson in the 100 freestyle, a 12th-place finish for
Grace Henely in the 200 breaststroke, a 13th-place finish for
Claire Kemmere in the 1650 freestyle, a 15th-place finish for
Maggie Spybrook in the 200 fly, and a 15th-place finish for the 400 freestyle relay team of
Tiana Temelkova,
Kenzie Myco,
Sarah Poach and
Claire Kemmere. The nine Toledo entries in the top-15 were the most for the Rockets in any of the three days in the invitational.
Overall, the Rockets had a strong meet in Morgantown, placing in the top-15 finishers 23 times over the three-day invitational, and medaling once each day.

Ball State Women's SID Leave House of Champions on Top
INDIANAPOLIS – The Ball State women's swimming and diving program put the exclamation point on an assertive victory at the 2025 House of Champions, earning wins in eight of nine event to end the three-day meet with 2,995.5 points.
The Cardinals saw three new standards set on day three at the IU Natatorium. Sophomore
Ava Butterfield captured the first individual program record of her career, touching the wall first during morning prelims in the 200 backstroke (1:57.93). In the championship final hours later, Butterfield placed first once more.
Along with Butterfield, Ball State made up half of the final heat in the 200 backstroke, including
Alyssa Messenger, who placed third (2:00.49);
Olivia Owens, who placed fourth (2:00.61); and
Ella Sears, who placed eighth (2:04.18).
In the event that followed, senior
Payton Kelly claimed her third program record in three days, placing first in the finals of the 100 freestyle with a time of 48.60.
The 400 freestyle relay team of
Anna Keen, Butterfield,
Reagan Graves and Kelly joined forces for a winning time of 3:20.28, the new top mark in program history.
Keen gave Ball State two individual event wins Saturday evening, taking first place honors in both the 50 butterfly (23.57), as well as the 100 individual medley (54.71). Four Cardinals also made up the championship heat of the 100 IM, as Kelly placed third (57.03),
Addie Beasley placed fifth (57.29) and
Aubrey Simmons placed seventh (58.66).
Claiming victory in the longest event of the meet was freshman
Addy Czarnecki, who swam a time of 16:51.96 to take the win in her first 1650 freestyle of the year.
Alexa Von Holtz took first place in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:58.54, just 0.02 shy of her program record, which she set at the Mid-American Conference Championship last season (March 1).
On the platform diving board, graduate student
Grace Walker kept her win streak alive as she took first during prelims (209.75) and in the finals later in the evening (246.05). Roughly halfway through the 2025-26 season, Walker has yet to see defeat on the boards.
After a successful three-day trip to IU Indy, the women's squad takes a breather before returning to league action versus Buffalo Jan. 17 at 11 a.m. inside their home Lewellen Aquatic Center.

Bowling Green Moves Up to Third on Second Day of Competition
CLEVELAND — Bowling Green expanded its scoring presence across nearly every event Friday at the Magnus Cup Invitational, adding depth and season-best swims behind standout wins from senior
Emily McNicol and a runner-up finish from senior
Natalia Mayorga on the 3-meter board. The Falcons remain third overall with 699 points, trailing just Akron and Northern Colorado in the women's standings.
McNicol delivered one of the meet's top performances with her victory in the 100 back, dropping more than a second from prelims to post a 53.36 in finals, well under her morning 54.81. The time ranks among the program's fastest ever, surpassing the No. 3 all-time standard of 54.35. Her opening relay leg also helped the Falcons place third in the 200 medley relay where she teamed with
Lauren Jablonski,
Karina Solera, and
Samia Becdach to finish in 1:41.32.
Jablonski continued her strong season with a third-place finish in the 100 breastsroke, clocking 1:02.13 after a prelim of 1:02.55 to secure 20 points. This swim placed her fourth on the all-time list in the event, surpassing the 1:02.22 mark.
In the 400 IM, senior Maddie Bond placed fourth in 4:26.29 dropping nearly three seconds from her prelim and delivering one of the team's stronger mid-distance efforts of the meet. Bond's finish garnered the Falcons 19 points.
Sophomore
Karina Solera finished sixth in the 100 buttterfly with a 54.99, placing her fifth on the all-time list. Senior
Grace Bodrock earned points, finishing ninth with a 55.81 in finals, just off her prelim time of 56.33 and tying her personal best. Fellow Falcon
Bridget Kurtzweil also scored with a 57.14 in the B-final.
Diving again proved to be advantageous for Bowling Green. Mayorga's runner-up 292.00 final anchored important points on the 3-meter board, where BGSU claimed five of the top nine A-final spots. Senior
Elise Snyder earned fifth with 253.95, followed by freshmen
Autumn Johnston (248.70),
Claire Werner (246.85) and
Sadie Dempz (246.40) in seventh through ninth place. In the B-final,
Victoria Miller added eight points with 222.00, and senior
Evie Long contributed four more with 195.35
Bowling Green enters Saturday positioned for a top three team finish, holding a substantial advantage over fourth-place Xavier while closing ground on Northern Colorado.
