Miami Swim & Dive Delivers Another Big Day at Miami Invitational | Results
OXFORD, Ohio 
— The Miami University swimming and diving team continued strong in day two of the Miami University Invitational on Thursday, Nov. 20, at Corwin M. Nixon Aquatic Center. After day two, the women's team is tied for first place with 524 points. Other placements include the University of Notre Dame who is tied for first (524), Indiana State University in third (372), Marshall University in fourth (334), the University of Indianapolis in fifth (274), Illinois State University in sixth (191), Valparaiso University in seventh (50) and Ouachita Baptist University in eighth (48). The men's team is in third place with 537.5 points. Other placements include the University of Indianapolis in first (576), the University of Notre Dame in second (545.5), Ouachita Baptist University in fourth (293) and Valparaiso University in fifth (166).

How it Happened:
  • Day two kicked off with the women's 200-yard freestyle relay where the women's A team finished first. Kaylin HerbetNatalie GilsonJulia Waechter and Jenna Halliday turned in a combined time of 1:31.33.
  • Up next was the women's 500-yard freestyle where Gracie Gregory finished seventh, earning a time of 4:55.20.
  • Herbert was first in the women's 200 IM, earning a time of 2:00.34.
  • After that was the women's 50-yard freestyle where Gilson finished third with a time of 22.74. Waechter was fifth clocking a time of 23.19.
  • The women's 400-yard medley relay was next where the women's A team finished third. Ella Ziegert, Gilson, Herbert and Waechter turned in a combined time of 3:40.78.
  • For diving events, Sydney Rice finished first in the 3M dive with a score of 289.30. Mia Meinhardt was second, turning in a score of 288.75. Nora Kowalski finished third posting a score of 255.15. 

Ball State Women's S&D Lead the Field of 13 After Day One at House of Champions 
INDIANAPOLIS –
The Ball State women's swimming and diving program ended day one at the 2025 House of Champions invitational with five event wins and two program records, putting them at the top of the 13-team field with 687.5 points. The Cardinals hold a first-place lead ahead of UIC (527.5) and Little Rock (524.5).

Senior Payton Kelly turned in a solid individual performance at the IU Natatorium, capturing two wins in the 50 backstroke (24.60) and 50 freestyle (22.24). Her finishing time in the 50 free was just 0.01 shy of her program-leading mark (22.23), which she set at last season's Mid-American Conference Championships (Feb. 27).

Along with her individual performance, Kelly swam anchor for both victorious 200 freestyle (1:30.78) and 400 medley (3:39.79) relay squads. Joining the effort in the freestyle relay was Anna KeenKiley Zoeller and Ava Butterfield, setting a program record to open the finals Thursday afternoon. Keen, Butterfield, and Kelly joined forces with Maya McDonald in the medley relay, closing out the day with a program record as well.

The women saw two second-place finishes as well on day one from Keen and Alexa Von Holtz. Holtz captured a time of 2:02.30 in the 200 individual medley, followed exactly one second later by Milagros Amione who claimed the third-fastest time in program history. Keen finished behind Kelly in the 50 free (22.61), coincidentally, also 0.01 shy of her best in the event.

On the 3-meter board, Grace Walker earned another victory, scoring 273.20. Walker is up to five wins on the boards so far this season.


Leah Evans Breaks School Record As Rockets Conclude Day One of West Virginia Invitational | Results 
MORGANTOWN, W. Va. –
Junior Leah Evans broke her own school record in the 100 backstroke on day one of the West Virginia Invitational on Thursday evening in Morgantown, W. Va.

Evans tallied a final time of 53.23 in the 100 back during the 400 medley relay. The relay team consisting of Evans, Rosie RichardsMaggie Spybrook and Helena Pinto Coehlo Lopes placed ninth overall in the event with a final time of 3:48.06.

In the 200 free relay, the relay team of Lopes, Janne SlegersKenzie Robinson and Audrey Zimmerman grabbed a third-place finish when they posted a final time of 1:32.86.

Toledo picked up two top-10 finishes in the 50 freestyle as Slegers took fifth overall (23.24) and Lopes placed seventh (23.52). Freshman Kenzie Robinson followed behind, earning 13th overall (23.64). Richards led the way in the 500 free, recording a time of 4:57.02 to take 12th.

The Rockets began action in the midseason invitational with long-course events on Wednesday evening. Evans broke the school record in the 100 back with a time of 1:03.05 which cuts the US Open event. Slegers broke the program record in both the 50 free (26.20) and 100 free (57.21).


Bowling Green Sits Fourth After First Day of Magnus Cup Invitational
CLEVELAND — Bowling Green opened the Magnus Cup Invitational with a dominant showing on the boards Thursday, placing four athletes in the A-final of the women's one meter dive and earning a win from senior Natalia Mayorga.

Mayorga claimed the event title with a score of 287.05, delivering one of her strongest outings of the season. Freshmen Sadie Dempz (249.00) and Autumn Johnston (246.50) followed in fifth and sixth, both posting season-best marks. Senior Elise Snyder followed in eighth at 234.40. Evie Long added a B-final win with a steady 226.00 to bolster Bowling Green's point total.

The Falcons carried that momentum into the pool during the evening finals session. In the 50 back, senior Emily McNicol took second in 25.01, a new personal best. Freshman Bella Treib placed sixth in 25.75, while juniors Bridget Kurtzweil (26.39) and Alexandra Johnson (26.72) added B-final points. Sophomore Annie Berrow won the C-final in 27.22, a season best.

Bowling Green reached the podium again in the 50 breast, as Lauren Jablonski recorded a season-best 28.69 to finish runner-up in the A-final and secure another high-value scoring swim for the Falcons. Madison Bond also finished second in the 200 IM with a 2:05.31 in the A-final, while Grace Bodrock took the B-final at 2:05.57.

Through the first day, Bowling Green sits fourth in the women's standings with 256 points. Akron leads with 488, followed by Northern Colorado (371.5) and Xavier (261).


Zips Conclude Day One of Magnus Cup Invitational in First Place | Results 
CLEVELAND, Ohio - Akron opened the 2025 Magnus Cup Invitational with a dominant first night, stacking event titles and relay success to build a commanding lead in the women's standings.

Through the first day, Akron leads the women's team standings with 488 points, well ahead of Northern Colorado (371.5) and Xavier (261).

The Zips were led by Avery Knight, who captured the 200-yard individual medley in 2:02.45, the fastest time of the night and the first individual title of the meet for Akron.

Hannah Trainer followed in a tie for third at 2:06.11, giving the Zips two top-three finishers in the event.

Akron also shined in the 50-yard freestyle, where Ada Szwabinska placed third in 22.79, with teammates Felicia Klintemar (5th, 22.94) and Callie Parkes (8th, 23.24) crowding the A-final. Trainer returned to finish ninth in 23.37, giving Akron four swimmers in the top 10.

The Zips' breaststroke group delivered major points early. In the 50 breast, Claire Cox and Szwabinska tied for third at 28.84, while Isabella PribonicEfthymia MazarakiCora Spetz and Madelyn Bosler all scored in the B-final, showcasing the team's depth in the stroke.

Akron swept the top spot in the 50 backstroke, with Klintemar winning in 24.98 and Abbey Cronin placing fifth in 25.61. Knight added another strong swim, taking 11th from the B-final in 26.20.

The Zips closed the night with a statement victory in the 400 medley relay, as Knight, Cox, Klintemar and Szwabinska combined for 3:39.59, edging Northern Colorado for the win and sealing Akron's status atop the leaderboard through Day 1.

Akron also picked up points in the 500 freestyle, where Ava Withey placed 14th in 5:02.25, and in the 200 IM D-final with Carrie Caniglia finishing 34th.

Elizabeth Noble gave the Zips a third-place finish in the 1-meter dive with a score of 253.20 while Sophia Stamm and Paige Bush finished 7th and 10th with scores of 226.15 and 227.45, respectively.
