Kedronova, Navarro Named Scholar Athletes of the Week

The Scholar Athlete of the Week Award is presented to a MAC male and/or female student-athlete who has a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and performs well during that week's competition. An institution can nominate up to one male and one female student-athlete per week in any of that current season's sports. The winners are selected by a representative of the MAC's Faculty Athletics Representatives (FARs).

Graduate student quarterback Parker Navarro led the Bobcats on the ground in their first road game victory of the season, defeating the Eastern Michigan Eagles 28-21 on Saturday (Oct. 25). The graduate student set multiple single-game highs, including completions (23), completion percentage (82.1) and passing yards (315). Notably, this matchup marked Navarro's first game passing for over 300 yards. The quarterback threw two touchdowns against EMU, both of which were caught by junior wide receiver Chase Hendricks.

Veronika Kedronova set a new program record for lowest 54-hole score this past weekend at the Landfall Tradition, rewriting the record book with a 13-under-par 203. The junior secured a dominant seven-stroke victory over an extremely strong field of 96 golfers, including five top-25 teams (not counting the Flashes). It is Kedronova's second consecutive individual victory and the fifth of her collegiate career, bringing her to a tie for fourth place in career wins in program history. Her second-round score of 65 matched the second-lowest round in program history and tied for the lowest round in the history of the prestigious Landfall Tradition. Kedronova's 16 birdies across three rounds were the most in the field.
