Campbell, Tyler Tabbed Scholar Athletes of the Week

The Scholar Athlete of the Week Award is presented to a MAC male and/or female student-athlete who has a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and performs well during that week's competition. An institution can nominate up to one male and one female student-athlete per week in any of that current season's sports. The winners are selected by a representative of the MAC's Faculty Athletics Representatives (FARs).

Week’s Achievements: Javontae Campbell picked up where he left off last season, and then some. Over the first three games of the season, Campbell posted two 20-point games while averaging 20.7 for the week. More impressively, he totaled 17 steals over three games. Campbell's best game came against Le Moyne on Sunday, as he had eight steals to tie the program's single-game steals record. The outing raised his steals-per-game average to 5.7. He also led the team in rebounds in the season opener against Texas State, with seven boards as well as five assists. In the game against Le Moyne, he added another four assists, tying for the team lead. Campbell has led the Falcons to a 3-0 start for the first time since 2014-15.

Week’s Achievements (detailed description of week’s events): Sophomore outside attacker Carson Tyler helped the Ball State women’s volleyball team secure the 2025 MAC regular season title and the No. 1 seed in the MAC Volleyball Championship by averaging 4.57 kills and 3.71 digs per set last week. She recorded kill/dig double-doubles in each of the Cardinals wins at Eastern Michigan, including a match-high 20 kills in Friday’s victory which was her seventh match this season with 20-or-more kills. Tyler’s 12 kills in Thursday’s sweep were also a match-high. Tyler also served up three aces and tallied three total blocks, while hitting .229 for the week.
