COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Senior forward Mallory Camryn was named the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Offensive Player of the Week Wednesday.
Camryn logged four goals on the weekend, one Friday (Sept. 26) at Ball State in a 2-1 win and collected a hat trick Sunday (Sept. 28) in a 5-4 win overtime win over Ohio.
In the game against the Bobcats, her first two goals gave Central Michigan a 2-0 lead after the first half. Camryn later fed senior Amelia Lane low for the game tying goal with 31 seconds left in regulation, then went on to score the game winning goal after collecting her own rebound, two minutes into the extra period.
Wednesday's announcement marks Camryn's first national weekly award.
The Chippewas return Friday, Oct. 3, at No. 14 Massachusetts, before taking on Merrimack Sunday, Oct. 5, in a neutral site game against Merrimack at Holy Cross.
