Ypsilanti, MI -- The University of Toledo Rockets captured the 2021 Mid-American Conference Championship on Saturday, their first since 2014. Toledo finished the day tallying a total of 32 points, with Miami following behind with 61 points.
Toledo's Freshman Joy Chirchir took home both the individual title and Freshman of the Year for the Rockets, crossing the finish line with an official time of 20:23.2.
Following the conclusion of the race, Toledo Head Coach Andrea Grove-McDonough was named MAC Coach of the Year.
