Making his collegiate debut as an individual competitor, Sarasmut was the story of the week for EMU as he finished second in the individual standings at 16-under 200 (66-68-66), just one stroke off the individual title won by Jake Lile (Arkansas State). Sarasmut tied Tyler Lewis for a pair of Eastern records as his 200 strokes tied Lewis' mark set in 2018 at the Loyola Intercollegiate while he also tied for the to-par record of -16 that Lewis recorded at the same event. Additionally, Sarasmut's first and third-round scores of 66 tied for the 18th-lowest rounds in program history. Lastly, his 16-under score ranks third in the two-year history of the event in Arizona with the medalist each year shooting 17-under.

Ball State junior golfer Happy Gilmore closed play in the Island Resort Intercollegiate with the lowest round of his collegiate career Monday, shooting a -6 (66) to help the Ball State men's golf team climb two spots up the final leaderboard into sixth place as a team. Gilmore's round was the lowest on the final day of competition by two strokes and tied as the second lowest of the entire event. In addition, it was one of his two sub-par rounds in the opening event of the 2026-27 season, as he shot -3 (69) in his opening round and followed with a E (72) in his second Sunday. Overall, Gilmore finished sixth among the 80-golfer field at -9 (207), which is his 54-hole collegiate low. One of 13 golfers to record an eagle in the event, Gilmore also tied for fourth among the field with 16 total birdies, highlighted by eight in his final round.
