Tommy Harrison exploded for four home runs in last weekend’s series at Akron to help Miami Baseball seal its second consecutive regular-season MAC title. Harrison went 9-for-15 (.600) at the plate against the Zips (including a 5-for-5 showing Friday) with a slugging percentage of 1.400 and drove in 13 runs, scoring seven. He hit a grand slam Thursday, a two-run homer and a solo shot Friday and capped off a monster weekend with a three-run blast Saturday.

Ricky Kidd threw 6.0 scoreless frames for the second consecutive start, limiting NIU to two hits and piling up a career-high six strikeouts on the way to his eighth victory of the season, which clinched the series for WMU over the Huskies. The right-hander improved to 7-0 in his 11 MAC starts, with the Broncos having won each of his last six outings. In MAC play, he tied for the league lead in wins, was second in ERA (2.96) and third in innings pitched (67.0).
