Buffalo Clinches MAC Tournament Berth with Win Over Northern Illinois | Box Score
BUFFALO, NY
 – The University at Buffalo men's tennis team (12-6, 6-2) turned in a solid performance from start to finish in a big 5-2 win over Northern Illinois on Thursday afternoon.

With the win, the Bulls have officially clinched a spot in the 2026 Mid-American Conference Tournament and currently sit in a tie for first place in the MAC standings with two matches remaining in the regular season.

The Bulls got off to a strong start as Theodoros Mitsakos and Clement Mainguy were dominant in a 6-1 win at first doubles and Onder Balci and Michael Malkin followed with a 6-4 victory at the second position to clinch the doubles point for UB.

The Huskies evened the match with a win at first singles, but it was all Buffalo from there as Emiliano Jorquera won 6-4, 6-0 at fifth singles and Mainguy rolled to a 6-2, 6-3 victory at third singles before Faiz Nasyam clinched the match for the Bulls with a 7-5, 6-2 win at six singles. Junior Minjae Kim rounded out the scoring for UB with a hard-fought 6-1, 7-6 victory at the fourth position.

Up next, Buffalo will close out the weekend on Saturday as they host UIC on Senior Day at 1pm.


Western Michigan's Extends Win Streak After Downing Ball State | Box Score
KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan men's tennis team extended its winning streak to five matches after downing Ball State at West Hills Athletic Club on Thursday afternoon. 

The Broncos (13-9, 6-2 MAC) started off the match taking the doubles point. Tim Riedel and Drew Evans pressed the advantage with a 6-3 win at No. 2  over Drew and Nolan Hayward. The point was secured by Jack Davison and Ashton Adesoro at No. 3 after a 7-5 win over Andre Caragea and Jeremy Milette. 

The Cardinals struck first and second in singles to take a 2-1 lead after wins by Caragea at No. 2 and Broc Fletcher at No. 6. WMU tied it back up at 2-2 with a win by Riedel at No. 4, 6-4, 6-2, over Milette.  The Broncos retook the lead after Adesoro picked up a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 1 over Jacks Lancaster. The match-winning point came from freshman Chen-Hui Ho, 6-1, 6-4 at No. 5 over Zack Kimelman. Oscar Corwin added the final pint for Western Michigan with a 6-3, 3-6, 1-0 (10-5) win at No. 3 over Drew Hayward. 

Western Michigan heads on the road next week to close out the regular season, heading to Northern Illinois on Thursday and UIC on Saturday. 


Toledo Picks Up 4-3 Win Over UIC | Box Score 
TOLEDO, Ohio –
The Toledo men's tennis team earned a 4-3 win over Mid-American Conference opponent UIC on Thursday afternoon at Shadow Valley Tennis Club.

The Rockets tallied wins on the No. 1, 3 and 6 singles court and also took the doubles point. Hanamichi Carvajal clinched match point with a 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 win on the No. 1 court, his fifth singles victory in MAC play this season.

Freshman Pannawat Suttisomboon fired off a 6-4, 7-6 (7-3) win on the No. 6 court while Lucas Britez earned a straight-set win on the No. 3 court to move to 10-8 overall on the season. UIC wrapped up singles play picking up wins on the No. 2, 4 and 5 courts.

In doubles play, UT won the point after earning wins on the No. 1 and 2 courts. Alejandro Gonzalez and Poonthong Komolpisut fought to a 7-5 win on the No. 1 court while Suttisomboon and Carvajal picked up a 6-2 victory on the No. 2 court.

Toledo will host Northern Illinois on Saturday, April 4 at 1:00 p.m. The match will take place at Shadow Valley Tennis Club (indoor) or the UT Varsity Tennis Courts (outdoor), weather dependent.
