MUNCIE, Ind. -- The Western Michigan men's tennis team picked up an emphatic 7-0 road win a Ball State on Friday afternoon.
The Broncos (10-9, 3-2 MAC) started off strong on doubles.
Ashton Adesoro and
Jack Davison gave WMU the early advantage with a 6-1 win at No. 3 over Drew Hayward and Jenson Bicanic.
Tim Riedel and
Drew Evans then secured the point with a 6-2 win at No. 2 over Andre Caragea and Nolan Hayward.
Oscar Corwin pushed the lead to 2-0 with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Jeremy Milette at No. 4. Adesoro then made it 3-0 with a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 1 over Jacks Lancaster. Freshman
Chen-Hui Ho clinched the match victory after a 6-4, 6-0 win at No. 5 over Zack Kimelman.
Riedel extended the lead to 5-0 with a 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 win over Hayward at No. 3, while
Alex Antonopoulos picked up the sixth point with a 6-2, 5-7, 6-4 victory against Caragea. Davison tallied the seventh and final point at No. 6 after beating Broc Fletcher 6-7 (4-7), 7-5, 1-0 (10-7).
Western Michigan returns home next week to host Buffalo on Thursday at 1 p.m. and Toledo on Saturday at 1 p.m. Admission is free.
