Singles Player of the Week
Jacks Lancaster, Senior, Ball State
Lancaster went 2-0 this weekend on the top court for the Cardinals. Lancaster began the week with a "gritty" match against UIC that came down to the final court, Lancaster delivered the deciding point at No. 1 singles. After dropping a tough opening set to Artem Alekseychuk, he roared back to win 6-7, 7-5, 6-4, securing the 4-3 team win. Lancaster continued his clutch performance in another 4-3 thriller against the Huskies. Playing at the No. 1 spot, he overcame a 3-4 deficit in the deciding set to defeat Iker Arrastia Gaztambide 6-4 in the third, a vital win that allowed the Cardinals to stay alive before clinching the match on court six. Lancaster’s back-to-back three-set victories at the premier singles position were instrumental in Ball State improving to 3-1 in MAC play and maintaining momentum during their current five-match homestand.
Doubles Team of the Week
Clement Mainguy/ Theodoros Mitsakos, Buffalo
The reigning MAC Doubles Team of the Week, Theodoros Mitsakos and Clement Mainguy came up big once again for the Bulls as they cruised to a 6-2 victory at first doubles to help lead Buffalo to a thrilling comeback victory over Toledo on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the duo is now 7-1 in dual action this season.
