KENT, Ohio -- The Kent State Golden Flashes are heading back to the postseason once again in 2026 after receiving an NIT at-large bid on Sunday evening. The Flashes are slated to take on the defending CBI champion Illinois State Red Birds on Wednesday, March 18 at 8PM ET from CEFCU Arena in Normal, Illinois. The game will be available for streaming on ESPN+.

Kent State returns to the NIT after making a run to the tournament's quarterfinals a season ago, which included road victories over St Bonaventure and Stanford. The Flashes have now posted 20+ wins for the sixth time in the last eight seasons.
