Annalise Patchett, Outside Hitter, Western Michigan
Annalise Patchett led the Broncos with 24 kills (4.00/set) on a .351 hitting percentage and added two service aces and eight blocks for 30.0 points (5.00/set) in straight-set wins over Central Michigan and Eastern Michigan. The junior had the hot hand against CMU, putting down a match-high 16 kills on a blistering .452 hitting percentage in the 3-0 win. She followed that up with a team-high eight kills, a career-high six blocks, five digs and a pair of aces in Friday's sweep of EMU.
Defensive Player of the Week
Gabby Weihe, Middle Blocker, Western Michigan
Gabby Weihe anchored Western Michigan's defense up front in straight-set victories over Central Michigan and Eastern Michigan, totaling 11.0 blocks (1.83/set) to limit the Chippewas and Eagles to a combined .063 hitting percentage in the two contests. The senior's biggest performance came in Friday's sweep of EMU, during which she had a career-high nine rejections (2 solo, 7 assists) to help the Broncos tie their season high with 13 blocks and limit the visitors to a .018 hitting percentage, the lowest by a WMU opponent so far this season.
Setter of the Week
Leah Richmond, Western Michigan
Leah Richmond totaled 65 assists (10.83/set) and 20 digs (3.33/set) on the way to a pair of double-doubles in Western Michigan's straight-set victories over Central Michigan and Eastern Michigan. On Tuesday against CMU, the redshirt sophomore handed out 42 helpers (14.00/set) and added 10 digs to help the Broncos hit .305 in the sweep. She followed that up with 23 assists, 10 digs, four blocks, and a pair of service aces in Friday's 3-0 win over EMU
