CORAOPOLIS, Pa. – Junior Isabella Mazzaferro scored just past the hour mark, lifting the Bowling Green University women's soccer team to a 2-1 win over Robert Morris University on Thursday evening (Sept. 4). The non-conference match took place at the Montour Junction Sports Complex.
Fellow junior transfer Ella Kane also scored for the Falcons (4-1-1). Kane's goal came in the 28th minute after the Colonials (2-3-0) had taken the lead just over 10 minutes earlier.
The match, originally scheduled to start at 4:00 p.m. at RMU's North Athletic Complex, was delayed due to weather and was moved to Montour Junction. The contest wound up starting at approximately 7:15 p.m.
The win marked the Falcons' second-straight comeback victory in as many Thursdays. BGSU picked up a 4-1 victory at Detroit Mercy seven days ago (Aug. 28), after trailing at the half.
The hosts had an 8-3 advantage in shots and a 9-1 lead in corner kicks, and RMU took the lead off of one of those corners. Paloma Swankler scored at ththe 17:20 mark, after a corner kick was headed back across the goalmouth.
But, Kane equalized at the 27:45 mark, with sophomore Haley Wolf assisting. The teams went to halftime knotted up at 1-1.
And, with just under 28 minutes left in the match, Mazzaferro recorded what would prove to be the winning goal. Ellie Pool and Taylor Green had assists on Mazzaferro's winner.

TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo women's soccer team earned its third-consecutive home victory, scoring in each half of a 2-1 triumph over Detroit Mercy at Paul Hotmer Field on Thursday evening.
The Rockets (3-1-1) took the lead inside 20 minutes on a Morgan Spitler goal, before Kaema Amachree netted the eventual winner in the 63rd minute. Toledo held off a late push by the Titans to preserve the one-goal win. The Rockets out-shot Detroit 9-7 and held a 6-1 advantage in corners.
Toledo marks its first three-match winning streak since winning four in a row from Oct. 1-12, 2023. The Rockets also won their first three home matches in a season for the first time since 2021 by out-scoring opponents 6-1 on the homestand.
