MAC Announces Week 2 Women’s Soccer Player of the Week Winners

Offensive Player of the Week
Addie Chester, Ball State, Forward/Midfielder
Senior, Muncie, Ind. (Delta)

 
Chester recorded a pair of goals, including the game-winner in Ball State's 4-0 win at Eastern Illinois on Sunday afternoon. The senior first scored off a rebound in the 25th minute before providing Ball State's final offense of the day on a goal in the 86th minute. Four minutes prior to that, Chester assisted on Emily Roper's score that gave the visiting Cardinals a 3-0 advantage. Chester is up to three goals in three matches so far this season.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Allison Collins, Kent State, Defender
Sophomore, Toronto, Ontario (Father John Redmond Catholic Secondary)

Collins drilled a long-rage shot from well outside the box to help Kent State force a 1-1 draw against Power-Four foe Northwestern last week. This marked Collins’ first goal of the season. 
 
Goalkeeper of the Week
Lexie Thompson, Buffalo, Goalkeeper
Junior, Levittown, NY (General Douglas MacArthur)

Junior Lexie Thompson continues to be a force between the pipes for the Bulls as she recorded five saves in a complete game shutout to help lead UB to a 1-0 win over Colorado College in the home opener on Thursday night. The Levittown, NY native now has two shutouts on the year.
