WIlliams, Bosma Named to John Mackey Award Watch List

NEW YORK - Ohio's Mason Williams and Western Michigan's Blake Bosma were named to the 2025 John Mackey Award Watch List, as announced by the College Football Awards Association on Friday. The award is presented annually to college football's top tight end. 

 The John Mackey Award was established in 2000 by the Nassau County Sports Commission. The recipient of the award will be presented at the Home Depot College Football Awards Show, Friday, Dec. 12th at 7pm on ESPN. 

Williams garnered two touchdowns and 211 yards on 19 receptions during the 2024 season. He averaged 11.1 yards per carry and 15.1 yards per game in the 14 games he played in. Williams also collected one rushing touchdown on his lone carry of the season for a total of seven yards. Following the 2024 season, Williams earned a spot on the Football Writers Association of America 2024 Freshman All-America Team. 

Bosma played in 12 games in 2024 and was named Third Team All-MAC, Academic All-MAC, CSC Academic All-District and NFF Hampshire Honor Society. He finished second on Western Michigan with a career-high 37 receptions, also had a career-high 403 receiving yards and six touchdowns catches. Bosma became the first tight end in WMU history to catch three touchdowns in a game after a 6-reception, 85-yard performance in win at Buffalo.
