Lucian Anderson III threw two touchdowns, Cameron Pettaway caught two scores and Bowling Green rallied from a three touchdown deficit to beat Toledo Rockets 28-23 on Saturday.

Down 28-21 midway through the fourth quarter, the Falcons (3-3, 1-1 MAC) tied it on a trick play when wideout RJ Garcia II took a pitch in the backfield, stopped running, then threw a deep ball in stride to Pettaway for a 73-yard score.

On the ensuing drive, Toledo coughed it up near its own goal line when Myles Bradley sacked quarterback Tucker Gleason and Isaiah Thomison recovered the ball. Chris McMillan crashed in from the 1 with 6:03 left for Bowling Green's first lead.

In the first, Chip Trayanum ran it from the 1 for a 7-0 Toledo (3-3, 1-2) advantage. Gleason ran it in from 12 yards out for a two-touchdown lead with 3:39 left in the quarter. The Rockets made it 21-0 when Gleason threw a 17-yard touchdown to Jacob Petersen just before halftime.

Pettaway finished with 118 receiving yards, with both his catches going for touchdowns.

Trayanum had 125 yards rushing on 27 carries with a touchdown, and Junior Vandeross had six catches for 100 yards receiving for Toledo.

Akron, Ohio (AP) -- Dequan Finn threw for 203 yards and a touchdown and Miami of Ohio used the second half to pull away from Akron for a 20-7 win on Saturday.

Dom Dzioban's 41-yard field with 1:33 before halftime served as the game's first points and Miami (3-3, 2-0 MAC) led 3-0 halftime.

With 10:35 left in the third quarter, D'Shawntae Jones crashed in from the 1 to end a nine-play, 75-yard drive to make it 10-0. After the RedHawks' defense held Akron to minus-6 yards on the next drive, Finn threw a 60-yard scoring pass to Kam Perry with 7:57 left in the third.

Akron (2-5, 1-2) dodged the shutout when Ben Finley completed a 5-yard touchdown pass to Israel Polk to make it 20-7. Finley threw for 211 yards.

Miami leads the all-time series 24-9-1 and has won eight-straight games in the series overall. The RedHawks are 11-6 against the Zips in Akron.

The RedHawks have now won nine-straight MAC regular season contests, dating back to Oct. 12, 2024 and are 18-2 in their last 20 MAC games.

YPSILANTI, Mich. (AP) -- Noah Kim's fourth quarter touchdown throw to Joshua Long helped give Eastern Michigan Eagles a 16-10 win over Northern Illinois Huskies on Saturday.

The Eagles (2-5, 1-2 MAC) were led by Dontae McMillan's 104 rushing yards on 23 attempts while Kim added 32 yards on nine attempts.

Each team traded field goals in a 6-3 first half, with Rudy Kessinger connecting from 35 and 49 yards while Northern Illinois' Andrew Glass made one from 30 yards.

Telly Johnson Jr. broke free for an 80-yard touchdown run late in the third quarter to give the Huskies (1-5, 0-2 MAC) 10-6 lead.

Long's 6-yard touchdown grab from Kim gave the Eagles the lead back for good. Kessinger's 28-yard field with less than six minutes remaining extended the lead.

NIU leads the series, 36-17-2 since the two teams first met in 1927.

KENT, Ohio (AP) — Da’Realyst Clark scored on the opening kickoff and Dru DeShields threw four touchdown passes as Kent State routed Massachusetts, 42-6 on Saturday.

The Golden Flashes (2-4, 1-1 MAC) snapped a four-game losing streak and took the lead on the opening kickoff after Clark’s 91-yard return.

DaShawn Martin, Sebastian Brown, Ardell Banks, and Terik Mulder each had scoring receptions in Kent State’s highest-scoring game since Sept. 17, 2022 (a 63-10 win over Long Island University).

The Flashes outgained the Minutemen 330-271 and had four sacks. CJ Young, Jamond Mathis, and Mason Maddox each had solo sacks, and Jaire Rawlison and Darian Blachewicz combined for one more. Joel Boamah and Clinton Robinson each reeled in interceptions.

Jordan Nubin added 80 rushing yards and one touchdown on 15 carries.

UMass (0-6, 0-2) has lost ten straight games stretching back to last season, last winning 35-7 over Wagner on Oct. 26, 2024.

Broc Lowry threw two touchdown passes, ran for another score, and accounted for 349 yards of offense to lead Western Michigan to a 42-0 rout of Ball State on Saturday for its fourth straight win.

Lowry was 23-of-27 passing for 241 yards with two touchdown passes. He added 108 yards on the ground on 13 carries that included a 37-yard touchdown run midway through the fourth quarter. He is the first quarterback at WMU to rush for more than 100 yards since Paul Jorgensen in 1973.

Lowry connected with Michael Brescia and Aveion Chenault for scores. Brady Jones added a late touchdown pass to Cade Conley for Western Michigan (4-3, 3-0 Mid-American Conference). Ofa Mataele and Jalen Buckley also had touchdown runs for the Broncos.

Western Michigan generated 461 yards of offense while holding Ball State to just 88 yards and 1 of 13 on third-down conversions.

Kiael Kelly completed 13 of 22 passes for 68 yards for Ball State (2-4, 1-1).

Western Michigan has won four consecutive and eight of the last 11 games in the series.
