Toledo Selected as Favorite in Head Coaches Preseason Football Poll

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Toledo Rockets have been selected as favorites to win both the regular season crown and Mid-American Conference (MAC) Football Championship Game title in the 2025 Football Head Coaches Preseason Poll. Head coaches were not allowed to vote for themselves in the poll.

The Rockets received seven first place votes to claim the regular season championship, while notching six votes to win the 2025 conference title game.

Miami, which has made appearances in back-to-back MAC Football Championship Games, was picked to finish second (131 points) and received three votes to win the regular season championship. The RedHawks also garnered four votes to claim the championship game title.

The Ohio Bobcats were selected third with 123 points, receiving three votes to win both the regular season championship and the conference title game.

The 79th season of MAC Football officially begins on Thursday, August 28, and will conclude with the 2025 MAC Football Championship Game at Ford Field in Detroit on Saturday, December 6th at Noon ET/11 am CT (ESPN).

The Mid-American Conference will host its 2025 Football Kickoff today, July 24, at Ford Field in Detroit, Mich. from 9:00 am ET/8:00 am CT to 1:30 pm ET/12:30 pm CT. The event will be streamed here.
