OXFORD, Ohio— The Miami University soccer team posted a 3-0 win against Central Michigan University during a Sunday home match. The RedHawks are now 8-5-2 (5-2-2 MAC) with the Senior Day victory and extended their unbeaten streak to six matches. CMU is now 0-13-3 (0-7-3 MAC).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The RedHawks opened the scoring in the 17th minute after a shot from Maris Jennings presented a rebound for Kayla Perfect, who put it in the bottom left corner.
- Miami immediately added a goal 30 seconds later with a beautiful 18th-minute cross from Perfect that was headed in by Katie O'Malley at the back post.
- The RedHawks tallied another goal in the 52nd minute as O'Malley closed the scoring, with Millie Cook collecting the assist.

Athens, Ohio – The Ohio Women's Soccer Team (4-8-5, 2-4-4 MAC) put themselves back in the win column against Northern Illinois (11-4-1, 7-3-0 MAC) in a 3-0 shutout at Chessa Field. Quintin Tostevin and Jaimason Brooker led the offensive efforts, both having a goal on the day.
Overall, Ohio outshot Northern Illinois 20-5, including shots on goal 11-1. The Bobcats had seven corner opportunities, while the Huskies had two.
Individually, graduate student Quintin Tostevin (Toronto, Ontario, Canada) led the Bobcats with two goals on two shots with two shots on goal. Junior Jaimason Brooker (Powell, Ohio) scored one goal and registered five shots with two shots on goal. Sophomore Iro Fakinou had shots (Athens, Greece), and junior Anna Burchett (Prestonburg, Ky.) both had three total shots with two shots on goal. Junior Kate Robinson (Madison Heights, Mich.) had two shots with one shot on goal, and senior Rayann Pruss (Perrysburg, Ohio) and sophomore Lillian Weller (Xenia, Ohio) each had one shot, with that one shot being on goal.
Senior Celeste Sloma (Columbus, Ohio) played all 90 minutes in the net for the Bobcats. Sloma faced six shots and had one save on the day.
Ohio came in hot on the offense, with Brooker putting the Bobcats up 1-0 in the ninth minute of play. Brooker's left-footed shot beat the Huskies' keeper in the top left corner of the net, giving Ohio the early lead.
Ohio's offensive pressure continued in the 23rd minute, with Tostevin hitting a shot to the top left of the goal that beat the Huskies' keeper, giving Ohio the 2-0 lead against Northern Illinois.
In the 27th minute, Kate Robinson attempted a shot that was quickly saved by the Huskies' keeper. The Bobcats' next opportunity came in the 30th minute off the foot of Weller, but was denied by the Northern Illinois defense.
Burchett attempted a shot right through the middle in the 44th minute but was stopped by the Huskies' keeper.
In the 60th minute, Fakinou attempted a shot that hit the left post; unfortunately, the Bobcats could not capitalize on the attack. Ohio tried to keep the offensive momentum going, but Brooker's shot attempt in the 62nd minute was saved by Northern Illinois' keeper.
Fakinou took another stab at the net in the 63rd minute but was shut down by the Huskies' keeper.
In the 79th minute, Tostevin scored her second goal of the game and extended the Bobcats' lead to 3-0. Tostevin was able to find the back of the net off a corner set piece delivered by Brooker.
The Bobcats' last on-goal opportunity came in the 85th minute off a Burchett shot that would be saved by the Huskies' keeper.
Ohio was able to maintain possession of the rest of the half, giving the Bobcats the 3-0 shutout victory.
Western Michigan 4, Kent State 1

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan women's soccer team stayed in first place in the MAC with a 4-1 victory over Kent State this afternoon at the WMU Soccer Complex. The win also secured WMU's spot in the MAC Tournament.
Avery Peters tallied two goals, while Drew Martin and Justina L'Esperance each added one. Reagan Sulaver earned her 11th win of the season in net.
FIRST HALF
Abby Smothers and Peters had quality looks in the opening minutes of the game, and the Broncos continued to apply pressure throughout much of the first half. The Brown and Gold eventually broke through in the 29th minute, as Peters found the back of the net to make it 1-0.
Not even a minute later, Peters was able to strike again, diving to head the ball into the net for a 2-0 WMU lead. The Western Michigan offense wasn't done there, as a shot deflected to Martin out in front. She ripped a shot inside the right post to make it 3-0 in favor of the home team.
Neither team would get a shot in the final eight minutes of the half, and the Broncos carried a three-goal advantage into the second half.
SECOND HALF
After a Sulaver save to open the half, Smothers tried her luck and had a shot sent away. Kent State would get a goal back in the 70th minute, making the score 3-1.
Not long after that, Kailah Newcomb nearly added a fourth goal, but her shot was handled by the KSU keeper. However, Western Michigan would add a fourth goal in the 82nd minute, as Martin ripped a shot off the crossbar which then hit the foot of L'Esperance. She hit the back of the net to make it 4-1 Broncos.
Down the stretch, WMU's defense would hold strong and close out a 4-1 victory.

TOLEDO, Ohio – Emma Rhoades' 14th-minute goal stood as the winner as the Toledo women's soccer team claimed its first win in Mid-American Conference play in a 1-0 triumph over UMass at Paul Hotmer field on Sunday.
The Rockets (4-5-6, 1-4-4 MAC) got on the board first for the first time since Sept. 18, and the defense held the lead for the final 76 minutes, fending off 11 corner kicks for the Minutewomen (5-6-4, 3-4-2). The Rockets earned their fourth win at home this season and fourth shutout.
Toledo earned the shots and shots on goal advantages, 10-7 and 5-2, respectively. UMass led in corners, 11-2 including seven trips to the corner flag in the first half.

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Ball State soccer team won its fourth match in a row with a 1-0 decision at Bowling Green on Sunday afternoon at Cochrane Stadium.
The Cardinals (9-5-2, 6-3-1 Mid-American Conference) handed the Falcons (8-2-6, 3-1-5 MAC) their first MAC loss of the year and only second overall this season.
Addie Chester provided the day's scoring with an unassisted goal in the 34th minute. The senior tallied her 10th goal of the year with the game-winner, which was her fourth in 2025.
Chester became the second Cardinal in program history to record double digit goals in multiple seasons after also scoring 10 in 2024 (Avery Fenchel with 11 in 2022 and 2023).
Ball State goalkeeper Kate Pallante made six saves among the 16 shots the hosts took to earn the solo shutout.
Chester took 3 of 4 Ball State shots on the afternoon, placing two on goal. Fellow senior Delaney Caldwell had the other look for the Cardinals, who generated more corner kicks than Bowling Green (3-1).
Joining Pallante in playing the full 90 minutes for the visitors were Delaney Ahearn, Fiona Kilian, Grier Isaacson, Jordyn Klaasen, Tori Monaco and Izzy Ross.
Eastern Michigan 3, Akron 0

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University soccer team won, 3-0, against the University of Akron, Sunday, Oct. 19 at Scicluna Field behind junior Olivia Sipsock's goals in the 25th and 52nd minutes.
Sipsock (Medina, Ohio/Medina) scored her fifth and sixth goals of the season while freshman Kaylee Synk (North Olmstead, Ohio/St. Joseph's Academy) dashed any chances of an Akron comeback with a goal in the 84th minute.
Redshirt junior Ella Holland (Dunwoody, Ga./Dunwoody/Samford) stood stout in net once again, making eight saves en route to her fifth clean sheet of the season.
Eastern sits in seventh place in the MAC, one spot short of qualifying for the MAC Tournament with two matches left to play.
How It Happened
Eastern's first chance of the day came in the 25th minute as Sipsock sent a well-placed left-footed kick sailed high toward the top of the far post, going over the Zips goalkeeper's glove to give the Eagles the lead at the 24:18 mark that they took into the intermission.
Sipsock once again was looked to in order to get the offense driving, and slipped past two Zips defenders for another left-footed strike. This time the ball never left the turf, and was placed out of the goalkeeper's reach to give Eastern a 2-0 lead after 52 minutes of play.
Holland and the Eagles staved off a desperate Akron attack in a rain-filled second half, stopping three shots in 90 seconds in the 78th and 79th minutes of play.
In 84th minute, sophomore Ciara Brown (Wyandanch, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills West/Auburn) raced up the near left side of the pitch, crossing the ball to Sipsock center-net in the box. Sipsock sent a soft pass to Synk in the bottom-right corner, who made a diving right-footed kick to tip the ball in.
