Bowling Green, Ohio (AP) — Angel Flores scores on three short touchdown runs and Central Michigan defeated Bowling Green 27-6 on Saturday, snapping a 10-game road losing streak in Mid-American Conference games.
Jordan Kwiatkowski returned an interception 26 yards to the Bowling Green 1-yard line to set up Flores’ first touchdown for a 7-3 lead early in the second quarter and the Chippewas (4-3, 2-1) led from there.
Flores scored from 6 yards out midway through the second quarter in a drive sparked by Joe Labas’ 63-yard pass to Collin Payne and CMU went on to a 17-6 halftime lead.
Flores added his final TD from 3 yards out early in the third quarter. The score was set up by Brock Townsend’s 37-yard run that took the ball to the Falcons’ 2.
CMU stuck to its ground game, rushing for 203 yards, led by Flores’ 72 on 18 carries. The Chippewas attempted only five passes. Kwiatkowski led the defense with 14 tackles, including seven solo.
Cade Graham kicked two field goals for CMU, including a career-long 47-yarder.
The Falcons’ only points came on two Jackson Kleather field goals, including a 49-yarder.
Lucian Anderson III threw for 153 yards and was intercepted twice for Bowling Green (3-4, 1-2).
Miami 44, Eastern Michigan 30

OXFORD, Ohio (AP) — Dequan Finn threw for two touchdowns and ran for two more, Jordan Brunson rushed for 122 yards and a touchdown, and Miami (Ohio) beat Eastern Michigan 44-30 on Saturday for its fourth straight victory.
Miami took advantage of good field position in the second half with two touchdown drives to build a 35-14 lead. An Eli Blakey interception set up Miami at its own 38 and the RedHawks scored six plays later on Finn’s keeper. Miami’s next possession began at the 45-yard line after a 15-yard punt return.
After Eastern cut it to 37-22 with 9:07 to play, the RedHawks used nine consecutive rushing plays to take a three-score lead.
Finn was 13 of 22 for 159 yards passing, and he carried it 10 times for 58 yards. D’Shawntae Jones added 66 yards rushing and a score as Miami (4-3, 3-0 Mid-American Conference) totaled 295 yards and four touchdowns on the ground.
Noah Kim threw for 309 yards and four touchdowns for Eastern Michigan (2-6, 1-3, but he was intercepted two times. Harold Mack had six catches for 179 yards and two scores, and Nick Devereaux also had two touchdown grabs.
Toledo 45, Kent State 10

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — Tucker Gleason threw a career-high four touchdown passes, Trayvon Rudolph caught one and had 119 yards receiving, and Kenji Christian rushed for 113 yards in Toledo’s 45-10 win over Kent State on Saturday.
Gleason was 21-of-28 passing for 294 yards, distributing each score to a different receiver. He opened the scoring for the Rockets (4-3, 2-2 Mid-American Conference) with a 58-yard strike to Rudolph. An 11-yard connection to Ryder Treadway made it 17-10 at the half.
The Rockets had a 552-224 advantage in total yardage, shutting down the Golden Flashes after the first quarter.
Cade Wolford scored a 75-yard receiving touchdown on the first play from scrimmage from Kent State (2-5, 1-2), and a field goal two drives later made it 10-0 in the first quarter.
From that point on, the Golden Flashes were shut out, mustering 84 yards of offense.
Eric Williams blocked, recovered, and returned a punt for a 19-yard touchdown at the 4:25 mark of the third.
Buffalo 28, UMass 21

AMHERST, Mass. (AP) — Ta'Quan Roberson passed for a career-high 403 yards, firing a 16-yard touchdown pass to Victor Snow with 21 seconds left and Buffalo Bulls stunned Massachusetts Minutemen 28-21 on Saturday after a late celebration penalty cost the Minutemen their first victory of the season.
AJ Hairston threw two touchdown passes and UMass (0-7, 0-3 Mid-American Conference) led 21-20 after Jeremiah McGill picked off Roberson with 59 seconds remaining. But the Minutemen were flagged for celebrating the pick and had to start their drive at their 10-yard line instead of the 25.
After two running plays lost 5 yards, Hairston threw incomplete and Buffalo (4-3, 3-0) got the ball back at midfield with 41 seconds left. Roberson hit Jasaiah Gathings for a 14- and 20-yard gains before Snow's go-ahead catch.
Kezion Dia-Johnson hauled in his first career touchdown pass on a 27-yard strike from Hairston and freshman Brandon Hood raced 90 yards for a touchdown on a first-down play as the Minutemen took a 14-3 second-quarter lead. Hood's scoring run was the longest for UMass since Tom Dicker had a 94-yarder against Boston University in 1996.
Roberson connected with Snow for a 23-yard touchdown and Buffalo trailed 14-10 at halftime.
The Bulls grabbed a 17-14 lead on Terrance Shelton Jr.'s 1-yard touchdown run in the third quarter.
Max Dowling caught a pass from Hairston, bounced off a tackler and rumbled down the sideline for a 77-yard score as the Minutemen moved in front 21-17 with their first second-half touchdown of the season.
Jack Howes had a field goal hit the upright before going through with 25 seconds left to cut it to 21-20 heading to the final quarter.
Roberson completed 36 of 55 passes - both career highs - with an interception. Nik McMilian and Snow combined for 18 catches and 231 yards.
Hairston had 119 yards on 6-for-14 passing and Hood carried 24 times for 179 yards.
Ohio 48, NIU 21

ATHENS, Ohio (AP) — Sieh Bangura rushed for 147 yards and three touchdowns and Duncan Brune rushed for 126 yards and two touchdowns to lead a dominant rushing effort for Ohio in a 48-21 win over Northern Illinois Huskies on Saturday.
Bangura scored two touchdowns by the 12:13 mark of the second quarter, with a Parker Navarro rushing touchdown sandwiched between them.
Navarro was 17-of-23 passing for 205 yards and an interception.
Brune got on the board with a 66-yard scamper early in the third quarter. His second came less than seven minutes later.
Ohio (4-3, 2-1 Mid-American Conference) outgained Northern Illinois 538-293, with the offense going 5-for-5 in the red zone.
Josh Holst was 21 of 29 with 161 yards and a couple of passing touchdowns for Northern Illinois (1-6, 0-3 MAC), but five of the Huskies' first seven drives ended in punts.
Their penultimate drive ended in a 91-yard fumble return for a touchdown by Jalen Thomeson with 2:52 remaining.
Ball State 42, Akron 28

MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) — TJ Horton scored on a 90-yard kickoff return to seal Ball State Cardinals's 42-28 win over Akron Zips on Saturday.
Kiael Kelly ran for three touchdowns and passed for another with Qua Ashley rushing for 143 yards on 20 carries for the Cardinals (3-4, 2-1 Mid-American Conference).
Horton's return came after an Akron field goal that had got the Zips within a touchdown with under six minutes remaining.
The Cardinals trailed 15-14 at halftime before Ashley's 69-yard run gave Ball State the lead for good with 10 minutes left in the third quarter. The Cardinals kept the Zips (2-6, 1-3) at bay with Kelly's 29-yard touchdown throw to Koby Gross and Kelly's 1-yard run in the fourth quarter to cap a 75-yard drive.
Ben Finley passed for 291 yards and three touchdowns - two to Israel Polk - for the Zips but was intercepted twice. Jordan Gant had 94 yards rushing.
There was a weather delay midway through the fourth quarter.
