KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The University at Buffalo women's volleyball team (5-10, 1-1 MAC) swept the defending MAC Champion Western Michigan Broncos (5-8, 1-1 MAC) on Saturday afternoon (26-24, 35-33, 25-16). This was Buffalo's first win in University Arena since Oct. 12, 2018.
In the victory, the Bulls handed the Broncos their first conference loss since Oct. 15, 2022, when they lost to the Toledo Rockets, 3-1. The last time the Broncos were swept at home in MAC play was on Oct. 23, 2021, against the Ball State Cardinals.
Buffalo's offense came alive as they outhit the Broncos, .310 to .183.
Manoela Forlin had a match-high 20 kills and 21.0 points.
Katrin Trebichavska and
Luli Arcucci also recorded double-digit kill performances with 12 and 10, respectively. Arcucci finished with a career-high .381 hitting percentage on the day.

Mandy Leigh had a career-high four aces.

Keira Kleidon added one. M. Leigh recorded her fifth double-double of the season with 36 assists and 11 digs.

AKRON, Ohio – The Ohio volleyball team (5-8, 1-1 MAC) concluded the weekend with a 3-2 victory (25-21, 25-18, 20-25, 21-25, 15-6) at Akron (5-9, 1-1 MAC), picking up its first conference win of the season on Saturday, Sept. 28.
Junior Anna Kharchysnka was a dominating offense force for Ohio, tallying a career-high 26 kills and a team-high 29.5 points. Kharchynska also recorded seven block assists and seven digs. Sophomore
Kam Hunt was also a main contributor to the Bobcats' offense, tallying 19 kills and 21.0 points.
Two setters served a role on the floor for the Bobcats. Freshman
Bryn Janke distributed a team-high 29 assists, and junior
Chariti McKeller finished with 23 assists.
Sophomore
Kendall Hickey and Hunt led the team in digs. Hickey recorded 14 digs, and Hunt recorded ten digs total.
Ohio came out strong, winning back-to-back sets against the Zips. The Bobcats gained an early 2-0 lead with a 25-21 win in the first set and a 25-18 win in the second. Akron answered back with its back-to-back wins in the third and fourth set, forcing a fifth set of competitions to be played. Despite Akron starting the fifth set with a 4-0 scoring run, Ohio regained control and scored nine unanswered points. The Bobcats won the fifth set in a 15-6 decision, taking the match over the Zips.

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's volleyball team swept Northern Illinois, 3-0 (25-18, 25-23, 25-19) on Saturday afternoon. Toledo moves to 9-5 overall and 2-0 in MAC play.
Toledo was led by junior
Izzy Granger with 14 kills and 11 digs, her second consecutive double-double and fifth of the season. Redshirt freshman
Kayla Ozanich added seven kills and had a team-best five blocks, including two solo blocks. Fifth year senior
Taylor Alt also tallied seven kills and a team-high 14 digs.
Sophomore setter
Macy Hatkevich totaled 34 assists to go with eight digs and two blocks of her own. Freshman libero
Grace Freiberger recorded 10 digs while
Caylee Sharkey and
Sierra Pertzborn had six and five kills, respectively.
Northern Illinois (2-10, 0-2 MAC) was led by Ava Grevengoed and Alexa Hayes with six kills.
Bowling Green 3, Ball State 0 | Box Score
MUNCIE, Ind. – The Bowling Green State University volleyball team continued a strong start to conference play, picking up a 3-0 win over Ball State Saturday (Sept. 28) to complete the weekend sweep. The Falcons registered a season-best .305 hitting percentage while holding Ball State to .021, the lowest mark by a BGSU opponent this season. Bowling Green is now 2-0 within the MAC for the sixth time in the last seven seasons and 7-6 on the season overall. The Falcons will continue MAC play on Tuesday (Oct. 1) against the Rockets to begin the Battle of I-75.
