Tyler Ross was a tough out at the plate for BGSU as the Falcons swept Miami in Oxford for the first time since 1995. In 14 at-bats, Ross posted a batting average of .571. He began the weekend on Friday (March 8), going a perfect 5-for-5 at the plate with two doubles, six RBI and three runs scored in Bowling Green's 17-16 win. He followed it up on Saturday (March 9) with another double and a triple while logging three RBI and two runs scored on two hits in the 12-1 win. Ross closed out his weekend stat line on Sunday (March 10) with another RBI and run scored while adding two walks and a stolen base. In total, Ross slashed an impressive .571/.556/.929 in the weekend sweep for the Orange and Brown while leading the team in RBI, doubles and total bases, tying for the team lead in hits and triples and tying for second in runs scored.
MAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Nic Good, Bowling Green, Pitcher
Junior, Grosse Pointe, Mich. (Grosse Pointe North)
Nic Good gave up just one hit over seven innings in his Saturday start against Miami. Good allowed an infield single to the first batter and he faced and then proceeded to not allow a hit for the next seven innings. Good tallied seven strikeouts in the start and picked up the victory of the second and three BGSU wins this weekend, giving the Falcons a sweep in Oxford for the first time since 1995. Over the course of his seven innings, Good allowed just one run and walked only two while holding RedHawk batters to a .043 batting average.
