Boris, Cramer Named Scholar Athletes of the Week

The Scholar Athlete of the Week Award is presented to a MAC male and/or female student-athlete who has a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and performs well during that week's competition. An institution can nominate up to one male and one female student-athlete per week in any of that current season's sports. The winners are selected by a representative of the MAC's Faculty Athletics Representatives (FARs).

Week’s Achievements (detailed description of week’s events):
Central Michigan's Alex Cramer posted back-to-back technical-fall victories over the weekend in conference dual meets at NIU and at SIUE. Cramer, a senior from Grayslake, Ill., posted a 20-5 win over NIU's Ricardo Salinas and then won, 19-3, over Dom Lopez of SIUE. The win over Salinas came in 6:12; the win over Lopez in 5:43. The two wins gave Cramer, who is ranked first in the MAC and 22nd by the National Wrestling Coaches Association, five consecutive bonus-point victories. He is 17-7 on the season including 7-3 in duals.

Week’s Achievements (detailed description of week’s events): 
Raisa Boris led the Eagles in their victories over both NIU and CMU in the NIU Tri-Meet, Jan. 28. The senior took the top-spot in not only the all-around with a 39.400 score, but she also contributed three first place finished: Bars – 9.850, Beam – 9.875, & Floor – 9.925. While holding a GPA of a 3.91, Boris has led the Eagles in multiple events throughout the season and has won the all-around gymnast title in three meets, thus far.
