RedHawk Coaches Named NFCA Regional Staff of the Year

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Miami University softball was among 11 programs honored by the NFCA as 2023 Division I Regional Coaching Staffs of the Year, the Association announced on Thursday afternoon. Head coach Kirin Kumar led the charge, assisted by Morgan Zerkle and Courtney Vierstra. Miami softball has now won its second region coaching staff of the year honor in program history. The RedHawks share the Mideast Region honor with Middle Tennessee State.

Mid-American Conference regular-season champions for the fourth-straight time and third-straight tournament title ... Reached NCAA Regional Final for the first time ever ... Brianna Pratt tied the most wins in a season at 32 (program history) ... Bri Pratt was named the MAC Pitcher of the year ... Jenna Golembiewski received MAC Player of the year ... Karli Spaid was named to D1Softball's All-America Second Team ... Riley Coyne was placed on third-team Academic All-America ... RedHawks ranked second in slugging % in the country at 0.584 ... Miami ranked third in the country in home runs at 88... The Red and White were fourth in the country in home runs per game at 4.69 ... Five RedHawks named to the NFCA All-Region Team ... Five RedHawks earned First-Team All-MAC honors with one named to the second team accolades.
