Senior Daniel Warkentin raked the ball in five games this week against Oakland, March 22, and in the 3-1 series victory over Akron, March 25-26. In game one of the doubleheader Friday, Warkentin was 2-for-3 with three RBI and a home run. He followed it up with a 3-for-4 nightcap with two more round-trippers and four more RBI. On Saturday, he started the doubleheader 1-for-5 with a run scored but closed with a 2-for-3 effort with three runs scored, three RBI and two more homeruns.

Warkentin's current 10-game hitting streak is the best of any Eagle this season and the best of his career. His previous best was seven, in 2020. He recorded multiple home runs in two-or-more contests for the first time in his career last week as he hit a pair in game two of the weekend series against Akron, March 25, before belting another pair off the Zips in Saturday's finale, March 26.

Warkentin recorded five home runs in the four-game set against the Zips. He is the first Eastern Michigan player to hit five deep shots in a four-game stretch since the 2009 season, when Jim Gulliver did it between May 8-12."

Kyle Jones was outstanding in Toledo's 3-2 win over Miami on Friday. The 13 strikeouts on Friday were the most by a MAC pitcher this season.
