CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Robert Morris women's lacrosse team was picked to repeat as 2022 MAC Champions in the Preseason Coaches Poll, it was announced Tuesday. The Colonials were also picked as league favorites to win the inaugural MAC Women's Lacrosse Tournament that will take place this May.
RMU received three out of a possible six first place votes in both the regular season and tournament polls after running the table during the conference's inaugural season in 2021, going a perfect 10-0 in MAC play to earn the program's first ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
They return several key players from their championship squad a year ago, including 2021 MAC-First Team honoree Jordan Anderson as well as second-teamers Kelley Flynn and Colleen Tifft. Reigning MAC Coach of the Year Katrina Silva enters her fifth season at the helm of the Colonials.
2021 conference runners-up Central Michigan trailed closely behind RMU with two first place votes, while the Akron Zips rounded out the top-three with one first-place vote.
