EVANSTON, Ill. – The record-setting 2025 campaign for the University of Akron lacrosse team came to an end on Friday (May 9) as No. 13 Michigan bested the Zips, 17-6, in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Akron garnered a goal apiece from junior Katie Baumer (Rochester, N.Y.), redshirt senior Noelle Boyd (Murrysville, Pa.), senior Jaelyn Clinkscales (Rochester, N.Y.), sophomore Sienna Hinchcliffe (Rochester, N.Y.), junior Kellen Fletcher (Valencia, Pa.), and senior Graceann Schwab (Rochester, N.Y.).
• Collecting one assist each was Baumer, Clinkscales and Hinchcliffe.
• Senior goalkeeper Hannah Sanders (Massillon, Ohio) led Akron's defensive efforts with a game-high six saves.
• Senior Bryanne Harner (Friendswood, Texas) posted a game-high four ground balls, while Baumer corralled a team-best six draw controls.
• Sophomore Kacey Hopkins (Riva, Md.) and redshirt senior Antonia Trickett (Cleveland, Ohio) led Akron with a caused turnover each.
• Recording three shots each was Fletcher and Hinchcliffe.
• The game marked the final time donning the Akron Blue and White for Boyd, Clinkscales, Harner, Kylie Harris (Lake Norman, N.C.), Chloe Herrera (Houston, Texas), Sanders, Schwab and Trickett.
