Other Nominee’s
Areanna Combs, Eastern Michigan, Guard
Redshirt Senior, Oklahoma City, Okla. (Putnam City West)
Redshirt senior guard Areanna Combs had another great week for the Green and White as she once again averaged nearly 20 points per game, this time against two stout defenses.

The highlight of Combs' week came at Kent State, where she notched 13 points to become EMU's 24th 1,000-point scorer and the first since teammate Courtnie Lewis hit the mark in 2019. Combs needed just 55 games at EMU to score 1,000 points, giving her a 18.3 ppg average since her arrival in Ypsilanti. She has now scored in double figures in 53 of her 55 career games at EMU.

Quinesha Lockett, Toledo, G/F
Junior, Omaha, Neb. (Benson)
Quinesha Lockett averaged a double-double last week to help Toledo go 2-0 in games against Central Michigan and Northern Illinois. The junior guard/forward averaged 23.5 PPG and 10.0 PPG across both contests. In Wednesday's game against Central Michigan, Lockett scored 24 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for her third double-double of the season. The game was a historic one for Lockett, who eclipsed the 1,000 career point benchmark early in the fourth quarter, becoming the 31st player in school history to reach 1,000 career points. In Saturday's game at Northern Illinois, Lockett scored a team-high 23 points and collected eight rebounds as well. She was particularly excellent in the first half, scoring 18 of her 23 points before halftime to help Toledo build up its lead against the Huskies. With the help of Lockett, Toledo is off to a 6-0 start in MAC play for the first time since the 1998-99 season; Lockett is leading the Rockets in scoring (17.2 PPG) and rebounding (7.5 RPG) in league play.

Chyna Latimer, Ball State, Forward
Graduate Student, Edgewood, Md. (Patterson Mill)
Latimer made her first starting debut in Mid-American Conference action Wednesday night at Eastern Michigan. Latimer posted a career best 17 points in the Cardinals dominating win over the Eagles. Latimer also pulled down seven rebounds, knocked one down from behind the arc and was nearly perfect from the charity stripe at EMU. Latimer then pretty much mimicked that high quality performance at Akron on Saturday after matching her personal best with another 17-point showing. She was also perfect from the free throw line while shooting over 50 percent from the field. For the week, Latimer averaged 17.0 points per game while shooting 52 percent from the field (11-of-21).

Jordyn Dawson, Akron, Forward
Redshirt Senior, Huntington, W Va.
Redshirt senior Jordyn Dawson led the Zips in wins over Miami and Ball State, extending Akron’s MAC win streak to four games, the first time since the 2014-15 season the Zips won four-consecutive league games. She recorded back-to-back double-doubles, her sixth of the season with 25 points and 10 rebounds against Miami, 20 points, and 10 rebounds against Ball State. Against Miami, Dawson got Zips perimeter shooting going as she drained back-to-back three-pointers that highlighted a 7-0 run to extend Akron's lead to 45-27 midway through the third frame. Against Ball State, Dawson connected on 3-of-6 from beyond the arc and finished shooting 6-of-17 from the floor. A sudden, explosive 14-2 surge midway through the third quarter saw Dawson at her best, commencing the run with a driving layup, adding a physical and-1 and further fueling the run with a fast break dish to Corcoran for a 3-pointer from the right wing to put Akron ahead 55-48.

Through two games, Dawson is averaging 22.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game.

Bridget Dunn, Kent State, Forward
Freshman, Carmel, Ind. (Carmel)
Bridget Dunn scored a career-high 19 points on Saturday to lead Kent State to a decisive victory over Eastern Michigan. Dunn shot 7-of-10 from the floor, including 3-of-5 from behind the three-point arc, in 27 minutes of action. In the Golden Flashes' game at Ohio on Wednesday, she scored 15 points and grabbed a career-high eight rebounds. Dunn averaged 17.0 points and 5.0 rebounds over the two games.

A'Jah Davis, Northern Illinois, Forward
Junior, DeKalb, Ill. (Montverde Academy [Fla.])
A'Jah Davis led all players with 24 points and 10 rebounds Saturday against Toledo. It was Davis' fifth consecutive double-double and ninth of the season. She was 6-for-8 from the field in the second half in scoring 13 points. Over the last five games, Davis is averaging 19.6 points and 13.4 rebounds per game while shooting over 57 percent from the field.
