MAC Women's Swimmer of the Week
Antonia Naccarella, Buffalo

Antonia Naccarella was a crucial part of UB’s win over the reigning MAC Champion Akron Zips on Friday evening. She would help the team receive 33 of their 169 points. Naccarella claimed second in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:53.70. That would be the worst position she’d place on the evening as she would see gold the rest of the night. In the 50 freestyle she won with a time of 23.12 seconds. She would end up winning the 100 freestyle by nearly a second and a half with a time of 50.85 seconds. To close out the dual meet, Naccarella was the anchor in the 400 freestyle relay where the team was in second place heading into the final 100 yards. She would help the Bulls win by .60 seconds and clinch the victory.
MAC Women's Diver of the Week
Bethany Berger, Eastern Michigan
Senior, Batavia, Ohio
Eastern Michigan senior Bethany Berger swept the diving events for the second consecutive week, Feb. 5, in EMU's dual with Oakland. The Batavia, Ohio native scored 288.75 to win the 1-meter event, and posted a season-best score of 302.93 in 3-meter to complete the sweep of events. Berger has exceeded the NCAA Zone C qualifying standard in each of her 1-meter outings this season, and surpassed the mark in 3-meter diving for the second time this season, doing so in back-to-back meets.

Paige Kalik, Akron
SophomoreIrwin, Pa. (Penn-Trafford HS)
Sophomore Paige Kalik (Irwin, Pa.) earned first and second place finishes at a dual meet against Buffalo on Friday, Feb. 5 at the Alumni Arena Pool and Natatorium. Kalik recorded the Zips second win of the meet with her performance on the 3-meter board. She used six dives to generate a 285.23 score which was five points better that runner-up Louise Bradley of Buffalo. In the 1-meter diving event, Kalik was runner-up with 278.33 ledger.
Victoria Franz, Buffalo
Sophomore, Buffalo, N.Y. / Sacred heart
Victoria Franz had herself a day in the diving well on Friday evening. She would claim first place in the 1-meter dive with a score of 296.18, a team season-high. In the 3-meter dive, Franz took home third place with a score of 278.33 to help the Bulls defeat the seven-time defending MAC Champions Akron Zips, 169-131.
Nicole Maier, Miami
Freshman, Bottrop, Germany (Willy-Brandt-Gesamtschule)
Nicole had a phenomenal performance at the dual meet against Xavier. Maier claimed two individual victories in the 100 and 200 Freestyle events, and was a part of the two Miami victories in both the 400 medley and 200 Free relay events on Saturday. Her time in the 200 individual freestyle event is a new personal best, finishing in a time of 1:47.83.
Ali Staver, Eastern Michigan
Senior, Bettendorf, Iowa (Pleasant Valley)
Eastern Michigan senior Ali Staver won one event while setting two new season-best times in EMU’s meet against Oakland, Feb. 5. Staver won the 100 butterfly with a season-best swim of 57.16, and also set a new season standard in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:06.76.
Kennedy Lovell, Toledo
Sophomore, Girard, Ill. (Hoosier Academy)
Sophomore Kennedy Lovell had an excellent day on Saturday in a dual meet against Bowling Green, winning two individual races and helping Toledo win the 400 freestyle relay (3:31.76). Lovell touched the wall first in the 50 free (24.26) and 200 free (1:54.55) and contributed a 52.03 100 free split in the relay victory. She also finished in second in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:26.43.
