CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference saw 28 student-athletes from seven of the league's nine teams earn Academic All-District Team honors for the 2025-26 women's swimming & diving season, as announced by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) on Tuesday.
The academic honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA. To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a
starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution. Student-athletes must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games/contests/sets played OR must start in at least 66 percent of the games/contests/sets.
Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot, and finalists denoted with an asterisk will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced April 28 (women) and April 29 (men).
Akron - Four members of the Akron women's swimming and diving team were named to College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team as announced on Tuesday, April 7.

Azra Umut were named Academic All-District honorees by College Sports Communicators (CSC), the organization announced Tuesday, April 7. All four of Eastern's honorees earned top-eight finishes at the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Championships to qualify. The accolade also marks the first of all four of the student-athletes' respective careers. Gutierrez earned the honor with a 3.92 GPA and her eighth-place finish in the 3m diving finals. LaRosa made the list with her 3.94 GPA while finishing fourth in the 100y breaststroke finals. Mina held a 3.63 GPA and finished seventh in the 100y butterfly finals, and Umut earned the accolade with her 3.55 GPA and a seventh-place finish in the 500y freestyle finals.
Massachusetts - Eight members of the University of Massachusetts swim and dive team earned Academic All-District honors, as announced by the College Sports Communicators organization on Tuesday.

Courtney Tedesco were selected for their efforts in the pool and in the classroom, while Bell advanced to the Academic All-America ballot as finalist.
Gilbert, a kinesiology major, placed 14th in the 200 breaststroke finals at the Mid-American Conference Championships with a time of 2:18.35. The Glenville, New York, native, finished second with a personal-best time of 25.43 in the 50 freestyle timed finals. She also took 22nd in the 100 breaststroke prelims with a season-best time of 1:05.06.
A biochemistry and molecular biology major, Grishaeva took home the bronze medal at the MAC Championships after finishing the 200 breaststroke finals with a time of 2:13.03, after placing second in the prelims with a personal-best time of 2:13.03. The time marked the second-best time in program history. The Broadland, Virginia, native, placed 10th in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:01.49, before taking fourth in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:19.67. She also aided the sixth-place 400 medley relay team to a new program record time of 3:41.51 as the leadoff, swimming the third-best time in program history of 55.28 in the 100 backstroke.
Guerin, a sport management major, placed 12th overall in the one-meter dive finals at the MAC Championships with a score of 251.65. The Auckland, New Zealand, native, finished the three-meter dive preliminaries with a six-dive total of 205.65 to sit 26th.
Tedesco, a dual major in finance and economics, swam a personal-best time of 23.37, which marked the sixth-best time in program history, in the 50 freestyle preliminaries at the MAC Championships. The Charleston, South Carolina, native, set a personal-best time in the 100 freestyle prelims with a time of 51.66 to sit 27th, while placing 23rd in the 100 butterfly with a personal-best time of 56.61. She also finished third with a personal-best time of 1:54.67 in the 200 freestyle timed finals.
Miami - The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom. Ohio -
Four members of the Ohio swimming and diving team were named to the 2025-2026 Academic All-District® Women's Swimming and Diving team, selected by College Sports Communicators, the organization announced this week. Senior
Casadie DiBetta, juniors
Katie Buroker and
Zita Szoke, and sophomore
Juliana Slaninka all earned the honor.
This is the third year Dibetta has earned her spot on the All-District Team. The early childhood education major achieved a 3.991 GPA and is coming off a historic senior season. DiBetta earned a spot in the NCAA National championships after a school record-setting 200-yard breaststroke swim at the MAC Championships, where she placed first with a time of 2:09.33, as well as second in the 100 breast, with a school record-setting time of 59.78. DiBetta was the first breaststroke swimmer in 26 years to make it to the NCAA Championships, where she placed 48
th in the 200-yard breast and 43
rd in the 100-yard breast. DiBetta earned a spot on the All-MAC First Team while helping Ohio place second at the MAC Championships.
This is the first time Buroker earned a spot on the All-District Team. The Bios Wildlife and Conservation major earned a 4.000 GPA and is coming off a competitive junior season. At MACs, Buroker was a part of the 200-free relay that placed second with a time of 1:29.70, breaking a 15 -year old school record. Buroker was also named to the Academic All-MAC team.
Szoke earned Academic All-District honors for the second time in her career. The Linguistics major earned a 3.691 GPA, and is coming off another record-setting year. Szoke is fresh off a trip to the NCAA Championships for the third year in a row, after a historic MAC Championship performance. At MACs, Szoke set a school record in the 50 free, with a time of 22.10, set a pool and MAC Championship record in 200 free with a time of 1:44.82, where she was crowned a MAC Champion, and set an Ohio, pool, MAC, and MAC Championship record in the 100 free, with a time of 47.55 in her prelims swim. Szoke was also a member of the 200 and 400 free relay and the 400 medley relay that set new school records. At the NCAA Championships, Szoke placed 37
th in the 200 free, 49
th in the 50 free, and 26
th in the 100 free. Szoke earned First Team All-MAC and Academic All-MAC honors.
Slaninka earns Academic All-District honors for the first time in her career. The Studio Art major achieved a 3.887 GPA after coming off a strong sophomore season. Slaninka most recently competed at the CSCAA National Invitational Championships in Ocala, FL, where she was on the 800-free relay that placed 14
th. At the MAC Championships, Slaninka finished third in the consolation heat and 11
th overall in the 200-yard backstroke. Slaninka was also selected to travel to the Toyota US Open in Austin, Texas, where she placed 15
th overall in the 200-meter backstroke, with a time of 2:18.05. She was also selected to the Academic All-MAC Team.
Dibetta and Szoke will be considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second-, and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced April 28, 2026.
Toledo - Toledo women's swimming & diving student-athletes

Hannah Wentzel have been named to the College Sport Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, the organization announced on Tuesday. Richards and Wentzel are first-time honorees while Evans and Slegers have been named to the all-district squad for the second-straight season. All four Rockets were also named to the Academic All-MAC Team last week. Evans and Slegers will move to the Academic All-American ballot. First-, Second-, and Third-Team Academic All-America honorees will be announced on April 28.
