Cece Hooks, Ohio

Junior guard Cece Hooks tied a single-game school record with 41 points at Akron on Saturday. Hooks was 17-of-26 overall and 3-of-5 from the three point line while tying Marlene Stollings, who set the record in 1997. At Akron, Hooks added five rebounds, four steals and two assists. Hooks averaged 30.5 points per game on the week as she had 20 in Ohio's win over Toledo. Hooks added seven boards and four steals against the Rockets.
MAC WEST DIVISION PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kyra Bussell, Central Michigan

Central Michigan junior forward Kyra Bussell turned in another strong week as the Chippewas finished 2-0 with victories over Kent State and Northern Illinois to extend their Mid-American Conference win streak to 14-0 while clinching a share of the MAC West and MAC Regular Season Championship. The Grand Rapids, Mich., native averaged 18.5 points over the two-game stretch shooting 45.2 percent (12-of-31) from the floor with a 55.6 percent (5-of-9) mark from three-point range. She also averaged 8.5 boards per contest. In Wednesday's 71-58 home win over the Golden Flashes, Bussell finished with 12 points on 6-of-14 shooting to go along with six rebounds. In Saturday's 70-66 road victory over the Huskies, she notched her fourth double-double of the season posting a team-best 25 points and 11 boards. On the season, Bussell ranks No.2 on the team No.5 in the league in field goal percentage (.493).

Jordyn Dawson, Akron

Junior Jordyn Dawson made a big impact on the hardwood for the Akron women's basketball as the Zips defeated Buffalo (69-63) and MAC East leading Ohio (79-76) in week 8 of the Mid-American Conferecnce season. Dawson averaged a double-double against the Bulls and Bobcats scoring 16.5 points per game and 13.0 rebounds per contest. Additionally, Dawson averaged 6.0 assists an 2.0 steals per match-up. Dawson flirted with a triple double in the win at Buffalo as the Zips forward scored 13 points, which included three triples, grabbed 12 rebounds, and tallied a career-high eight assists, falling just two dimes shy of the triple-double. Three days later, Dawson did not slow down scoring a team-high 20 points, hauled in a career-high 14 rebounds, including five offensive boards, notched four assists, one steal, and shot 8-for-18 from the floor.
Oshlynn Brown, Ball State

Brown scored her 1,000th career point this weekend in MAC play at Eastern Michigan. The junior forward became the 28th member in program history to join the elite club when she scored a layup at the 9:31 mark in the third quarter against the Eagles. Brown started the week off strong leading all scorers Wednesday after registering her 11th double-double of the season with a 28 point 13 rebound performance. She then compiled another double-double at EMU with 11 points and 12 rebounds. For the week, Brown averaged a double-double with 19.5 points and 12.5 rebounds while also registering for bed free throw performances of the season going 13-of-15 (.867) from the charity stripe. Brown now has 1,005 career points and 774 rebounds.
Theresa Onwuka, Buffalo

Senior guard Theresa Onwuka averaged a double-double on the week averaging 18.5 points and 10.0 rebounds in two games. On Wednesday, Onwuka recorded her fourth double-double of the year with 21 points and 12 rebounds against Akron. On Saturday, the senior scored 16 points to go along with eight rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block as the Bulls snapped a six-game losing streak with a 62-56 win at Bowling Green. Onwuka is second on the team in scoring at 14.7 points per game, while leading the team in rebounding at 7.4 boards per contest. The Nigeria native has now scored in double figures in 19 of UB's 25 games this season and leads the team with 68 steals.
Juanita Agosto, Eastern Michigan
Guard, Redshirt sophomore, Seattle, Wash. (Garfield)
Redshirt sophomore Juanita Agosto was outstanding in the Eagles lone game, a win over Ball State, during the past week. The Seattle, Wash. Native was fourth on the team with nine points, but set new career-highs in steals (4) and rebounds (12). Both of those numbers led the team for the game as well. Although she stands at just 5’6”, the third-year Eagle has led the team in single-game rebounding on four occasions during the current campaign. Eastern’s 61-58 win over Ball State keeps the Green and White in place for a first-round bye in the Mid-American conference tournament. If the Eagles are able to secure a direct pass to Cleveland, it would be their first bye since the 2011-12 season. The win is also EMU’s third over Ball State in the last four matchups between the two squads.
Megan Carter, Kent State
Guard, Redshirt Senior, Farmington Hills, Mich. (North Farmington)
Megan Carter averaged 17.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.5 steals per game this past week. Carter posted her first career double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds to go with a season-high five assists in leading Kent State to a Senior Day victory against Miami on Saturday. She matched her career-high with three steals on Wednesday, as the Golden Flashes held first-place Central Michigan seven points under its season average and its third-fewest three-pointers (6) of the season. Carter added 14 points in the game.
Lauren Dickerson, Miami
Guard, Senior, Indianapolis, Ind. (Lawrence North)
Lauren Dickerson broke the program record for career three-pointers on Saturday at Kent State as she is the first in program history to reach 300 made three-pointers, now with 302. Dickerson also tied the record for 20-point games in a Miami career (48) as she had a game-high 29 points against the Golden Flashes. She led the game with 11 field goals and had five three-pointers, accounting for all but one of Miami's triples and sinking more than the Kent State roster. Saturday's game was the ninth time this season that Dickerson has reached the 20-point plateau. Dickerson added nearly half of the RedHawks' assists to her stat line, recording four helpers. She is the second player in program history to reach 2,100 career points, now totaling 2,117.
Courtney Woods, NIU
Forward, Redshirt-Senior, Brisbane, Australia (St. Margaret's)
Courtney Woods averaged 19.5 points, eight rebounds, and five assists per game this week against the top two teams in the MAC West, Ball State and Central Michigan. Woods opened the week with 18 points at Ball State Wednesday night, moving into second on the NIU career scoring list with 2,104 points. On Saturday, Woods led NIU with 21 points and 12 rebounds in a 70-66 loss to Central Michigan. Woods scored 17 points in the fourth quarter alone.
Tanaya Beacham, Toledo
Forward/Center, Junior, Youngstown, Ohio (Toledo Rogers H.S.)
Junior Tanaya Beacham averaged a double-double in two games last week, contributing a team-high 16.5 points and a squad-best 10.0 rebounds. The only Rocket to score in double figures in both contests, Beacham shot a sensational 65.2 percent (15-of-23) from the field in 32.0 minutes. The 2019-20 team captain opened the week with a squad-best 20 points and a career-high 14 caroms at Ohio on Wednesday to post her third-collegiate double-double. She followed up that performance against the Bobcats with 13 points, six boards, one helper and one steal in a career-high 35 minutes vs. Western Michigan on Saturday.
Jordan Walker, WMU
Guard, RSo., Muskegon (Mona Shores)
Redshirt sophomore Jordan Walker put up big numbers all across the board this week for the Broncos. On Wednesday against Bowling Green, she tallied 15 points with five rebounds, adding three steals, a block and two assists. On Saturday, she led the Broncos with 21 points en route to their fourth-straight victory. She went 3-for-5 (60%) from beyond the arc and led the team defensively with five steals. She currently ranks eighth in the MAC in scoring, averaging 15.3 points per game, and fourth in steals with an average of 2.2.
