TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo women's cross country team moved up four spots to No. 21 in the USTFCCCA National Preseason Poll that was announced on Tuesday. The ranking marks UT's highest since it earned a No. 16 spot in 2022.

Toledo is ranked No. 2 in the Great Lakes Region with No. 7 Notre Dame the top-ranked school in the region.

Defending national champion NC State is ranked first in the poll and is followed by New Mexico, BYU, Iowa State and Oregon.

The Rockets registered a strong showing this past weekend at Indiana State's John McNichols Invitational. Toledo placed fourth in the race and finished ahead of No. 14 Florida, No. 23 Washington and No. 27 Boston College. UT's 124 points were within three points of No. 18 Washington State.

Toledo will be idle this weekend and return to competition on Friday, Oct. 2 at Notre Dame's Joe Piane Invitational.
