ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio volleyball team (7-4, 0-0 MAC) took down Mercyhurst (4-8, 0-0 NEC) 3-1 (25-22, 25-16, 16-25, 25-20) on the final day of the Bobcat Invitational presented by AthensOhio.com on Saturday, Sept. 19.
Ohio finished with 54 kills, three aces, 12 blocks, 48 assists and 50 digs. Mercyhurst finished with 44 kills, four aces, six blocks, 41 assists and 48 digs. The Bobcats recorded a .221 team hitting percentage while holding the Lakers to a .181 percentage.
Senior
Torre Kildow led Ohio with 14 kills and 15.5 points. Senior
Emily Waddell recorded a team-high .400 attack percentage with 11 kills and three errors on 20 total attacks. Waddell also finished with a team-high two aces.
Sophomore
Bailey Blair and freshman
Rose Mahin tallied nine and seven kills, respectively. Senior
Olivia Gardner and sophomore
Cienna Lapsley combined for nine kills total.
Freshman
Rowan Kelly distributed a team-high 23 assists. Sophomore
Lillie Meinhart recorded the second-most assists on the team with 18 total.
Defensively, junior
Darbi Ricketts and sophomore
Lacy Marx inished with a team-high eight digs each. Meinhart and Mahin combined for 12 digs total. Gardner and Lapsley were solid at the net for Ohio, tallying four blocks each, while Blair added another three blocks.
The Bobcats will be back in action for their first week of Mid-American Conference (MAC) competition. Ohio will kick off league play at Eastern Michigan on Friday, Sept. 25 at 6 p.m. ET.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo women's volleyball team (7-3, 0-0 MAC) swept the FDU Knights (2-11, 0-0 NEC) on Saturday afternoon, 25-18, 25-22, 25-22.
Manoela Forlin led Buffalo's offensive attack with 15 kills.
Hailey Campagna added eight kills.
Maddie Mitchell tallied her 19
th career double-double with 32 assists and 15 digs. She has now recorded four straight double-doubles.
Defensively,
Anaya Cole added a career-high 19 digs.
Sydney Bell and
Tehya Shaw each had four blocks.
The Bulls were aggressive off the serve as they finished with seven aces to FDU's three. Over the last two matches, the Bulls have tallied 15 aces over six sets played.
The Bulls will stay in Syracuse as they'll face the Orange tomorrow at 1 p.m. as they'll close their non-conference slate.

MILWAUKEE – The Western Michigan volleyball team rallied from a 2-0 deficit to claim a reverse sweep victory (17-25, 23-25, 25-13, 25-19, 15-10) over Milwaukee on Saturday evening.
Western Michigan's comeback was keyed by a third set which featured seven of the team's season-high 13 service aces. It was the most aces served up by the Broncos in more than a decade.
Elana Erickson tallied a career-high five service aces, while
Annalise Patchett added a career-high four.
Leah Richmond collected her second consecutive double-double, tallying 48 assists and 12 digs. The redshirt sophomore set up three Broncos for double-digit kills, led by Patchett's season-high 18.
Izzy Swiercz also picked up a double-double for the second straight day after notching 15 kills to go with a career-high 13 digs.
Bri Zimmerman chipped in 11 kills for the Brown and Gold.
Joining the double-double duo of Richmond and Swiercz in double-digit digs were
Carley Piercefield, who recorded a team-high 16, and Erickson, who collected 14. Zimmerman registered a team-leading five blocks.
The Broncos begin MAC play next weekend with a pair of contests at Ball State. Friday's series opener is set for 6 pm on
ESPN+.
