Buffalo Bulls
BINGHAMTON, NY – The University at Buffalo men's tennis team kicked off the fall season at the Carousel Classic, hosted by Binghamton University, this weekend.

On Friday, Connor Doig and Chase Zhao picked up their first win as a duo, defeating Bucknell's Vlad Dombrovsky and Shiv Sing. In singles play, Michael Malkin defeated Binghamton's Harry Lioa 7-6(5), 6-3 and Zhao battled to a three-set victory over Bucknell's Enoch Lin, winning 3-6, 6-4, 10-8.

On day two, Malkin and Doig picked up their first win together, defeating Binghamton's Liao and Filipe Costa 6-3 before dropping a contest to Bucknell and Zhao and Cowen Lau teamed up to beat Lin and Justin Yuan 6-4 before falling to Will Robinson Vlad Dombrovskyi later in the day. The Bulls then took three of four singles matches as Malkin defeated Robinson 6-3, 6-2, Doig cruised to a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Bucknell's Brady Friesen and Lau earned a hard-fought 6-4, 7-6(3) win over Binghamton's Giannis Sakkas.

Inclement weather forced play to move indoors on Sunday, but the Bulls ended the weekend on a high note as Malkin and Lau defeated Binghamton's Dylan Breen and Andre Ajad 6-3 and Zhao battled to a three-set victory over Bucknell's Jovan Morales, winning 4-6, 6-1, 10-5.

Up next, the Bulls will travel to Princeton for the Farnsworth Invitational which will be held September 25-27.


Omaha Mavericks
OMAHA, Neb. - Omaha Men's Tennis kicked off its 2026 fall season at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic over the weekend, sending sophomore Maddox Lundell (Minnetonka, Minn.) and senior Christian Trevey (Parker, Colo.) to compete and go 6-5 overall. 

This was the 50th year of the Milwaukee Tennis Classic, and it is one of the oldest-running fall college tennis tournaments in the nation. The other competing universities this year were TCU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Notre Dame, Texas Tech, Pepperdine, Western Michigan, Marquette, Northern Illinois, UIC and Navy. 

In the main doubles draw, Lundell and Trevey began the season squaring off against UIC's Nikola Puntaric and Mihailo Savic, winning 6-1. They advanced to the quarterfinals, falling to Texas Tech's Imran Daniel Abdul Hazli and Ludovico Vaccari. 6-3. In the North Bracket, Lundell and Trevey defeated the senior duo Roberto Ferrer Guimaraes and Marshall Landry of Mississippi State 7-6 (5). 

Lundell's main draw for singles saw a 1-1 finish. He recorded a 6-1, 6-1 win over Navy's George Cutone in the Round of 32, before ultimately losing in the Round of 16 to TCU's No. 111 Maximus Dussault 6-2, 6-3. In the North Bracket, Lundell notched a pair of wins, defeating Peter Nad of Notre Dame 6-2, 6-4 and Western Michigan's Oscar Corwin 6-2, 3-6, 10-4. 

For Trevey, his main draw for singles ended in a loss against Mississippi State's Roberto Ferrer Guimaraes 6-4, 6-3 in the Round of 32. Featured in the West Bracket, Trevey defeated Western Michigan's Drew Evans 6-3, 7-5, before coming up short in a hard-fought duel against Thomas Van Den Dooren of Texas Tech 6-7(5), 7-5, 10-4.  

Next up, the Mavericks will head to Topeka, Kan. for the Washburn Invite on Sept. 18-19. 


Drake Bulldogs
DES MOINES, Iowa – Drake men's tennis was back in action for the first time in the 2026-27 season over the weekend. The Bulldogs hosted Northwest Missouri State and Chicago State in the Drake Hidden Duals with solid performances throughout their lineup.
 
The Bearcats of NWMSU got out to a good start in doubles play as Dominik Wijntjes and Bernardo Henriques ousted Drake's Adan Tarquino and Ulysse Verrando in the top spot. Drake rebounded, though, as the Bulldogs second and third doubles teams secured wins by 6-4 and 6-2, respectively.
 
Drake turned it on once singles action started, sweeping all six one-on-one bouts with the Bearcats. Tarquino and Verrando got their revenge as the latter beat Carlos Doria in the No. 5 flight (6-1, 6-1) and former needed three sets to defeat Antonio Vitor Monteiro at No. 4 (2-6, 6-1, 10-6). Alan Gonzalez, Jose Alessandro Hernandez, and Alex Yeager also won in straight sets.
 
Later in the day, the Dogs were back on the court against Chicago State. Drake owned doubles play with wins in all three matches before shifting to singles. The Cougars' No. 2 player Joao Teixeira earned Chicago State's lone win of the tussle with a 3-6, 6-1, 10-8 defeat of Alex Yeager. Drake's
 
Sam Melaga also needed three sets to beat Yurii Hoida in the first position, but Drake earned comfortable wins otherwise as they cruised past the Cougars.
 
Northwest Missouri State and Chicago State also faced off between the two Drake duals with the Bearcats edging out the doubles result and both teams splitting singles action.
 
In total, Drake went 16-2 overall on Saturday with several undefeated Dogs. All players that saw the court earned at least one win.
 
Drake will be back in action next weekend at Northern Illinois' River Forest Collegiate Invitational from Sep. 18-19.

Western Michigan Broncos
MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- The Western Michigan men's tennis team wrapped up play at the 50th annual Milwaukee Tennis Classic over the weekend.

Oscar Corwin, Jack Davison, Drew Evans and Chen-Hui Ho all competed for the Broncos. In singles play, Corwin and Davison both went 3-2. Ho finished 2-3 in five matches, while Evans went 0-3. Corwin's wins came against Pepperdine's Will Steinberg, UIC's Nikola Puntaric and Northern Illinois' Saul Berdulas Calvino. Davison picked up wins against Navy's George Cutone, Notre dame's Nicholas Patrick and Mississippi State's Marshall Landry.  Ho picked up wins against Texas Tech's Ludovico Vaccari and UIC's Mihalo Savic.

In doubles play, Ho and Davison were WMU's most successful pair with duo going 2-2 with wins against NIU's Constantin Radu and Berdullas Calvino. Corwin and Evans paired up, going 1-2 with a win against Northern Illinoi's Pratyaksh LNU and Curzio Manucci.
