Miami senior Anton Martinez won the 3,000m steeplechase at the Jesse Owens Classic in 8:51.22. His performance ranks third in the MAC, sits among the top 100 nationally, and stands as the fourth-fastest time in program history.
WOMEN’S TRACK — Rachael Hoover, Bowling Green
Bowling Green sophomore Rachael Hoover raced to 11th in the 800m at the Duke Twilight in 2:05.01. She set a new school record, holds the fastest 800m in the MAC this season, and ranks 87th nationally.
WOMEN’S FIELD — Sierra Sommers, Western Michigan
Western Michigan freshman Sierra Sommers won the shot put at the Gary Wieneke Memorial with a mark of 14.75m, ranking second in the MAC and 76th nationally. She also placed fifth in the hammer throw (51.51m), 11th in the conference.
MEN’S FIELD — Amari Noble, Akron
Akron sophomore Amari Noble placed third in the discus at the Jim Green Invitational with a career-best throw of 57.90m (189-11). His mark leads the MAC this season and ranks 36th in the NCAA.
