RedHawks Win Close Match Against NIU
OXFORD, Ohio – Miami University women's tennis earned a 4-3 victory over Northern Illinois University on Friday afternoon. Miami secured the doubles point and split singles play to earn the team victory. Nina Chavez picked up a hard-fought win in a second-set tiebreak, while Maria Komar added a straight-sets victory to help lead Miami. Cardinals Fly Past Eagles | Box Score 
MUNCIE, Ind. –
The Ball State women's tennis team (9-7, 2-3 MAC) secured a dominant 6-1 victory over Eastern Michigan (10-10, 1-4 MAC) Friday afternoon at First Serve Muncie. Senior Asia Fontana delivered the match-clinching point at No. 4 singles to seal the Mid-American Conference win for the Cardinals.

The Ball State Cardinals delivered a dominant wire-to-wire performance against Eastern Michigan today, starting with a clean sweep of the doubles point for an early 1-0 lead. On court three, Fontana and Sydney Hrehor made quick work of Lara Diaz Zayas and Regina Mendez with a 6-1 win. Isabel Tanjuatco and Sarah Shahbaz soon followed, securing the doubles point from the top court with a decisive 6-2 victory.
The Cardinals maintained their momentum into singles play, sweeping the first sets on all six courts. Priyanka Rana quickly extended the lead to 2-0 with a straight-sets victory over Pehal Khardadkar at the No. 2 spot. 

Gabriella Barrera kept the pressure on, securing her fourth consecutive win by defeating Matilde do Canto Parreira 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5. With Ball State up 3-0 and needing just one more point to clinch, Asia Fontana delivered, rolling past Lara Zayas Diaz in straight sets to seal the match for the Cardinals.

The Cardinals will look to build on this momentum as they continue MAC play. Ball State remains home for their next matchup against Toledo on Friday, April 10, with match play scheduled for 12 p.m. ET.


Bulls Make Statement with Win Over Toledo | Box Score 
BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women's tennis team (18-4, 5-0 MAC) dominated from start to finish in a 6-1 win over Toledo on Friday afternoon at Miller Tennis Center. It is UB's first win over the Rockets since 2022.

Buffalo got off to a solid start as Sarah Hartel and Julia Laspro cruised to a 6-2 win at third doubles and Blanca Berges and Liv Roestel followed with a 6-4 win at the second position to clinch the doubles point.

The Bulls continued their momentum into singles action as graduate student Esmee Andresen picked up a 6-3, 6-4 win at first singles and Hartel added to the UB lead with a 6-1, 6-3 victory at the third position before Roestel clinched the match with a 6-3, 6-3 win at fifth singles. Sophomore Maria Glowacka extended the lead with a 6-4, 6-4 win at third singles and Berges battled to a hard-fought 7-6, 6-3 victory at six singles to round out the scoring for UB.

Up next, Buffalo will travel to Bowling Green for a clash with the Falcons on Friday, April 10 at 12pm before returning home to host Western Michigan for Senior Day on Sunday, April 12 at 12pm.


Western Michigan Picks Up Key Home Victory Win Over Bowling Green | Box Score
KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- 
The Western Michigan women's tennis team improved to 3-2 in Mid-American Conference play after a 5-2 win over Bowling Green at Sorensen Courts on Friday afternoon. 

BGSU actually got the upper-hand on the Broncos (12-6, 3-2 MAC) early on after taking the doubles point, with wins at No. 1 and No. 3.

WMU rallied early on in singles play, with Lola Glantz picking up a 6-1, 6-0 win over Tia Clemens at No. 1. Sophomore Sienna Osborne gave the Broncos the lead after a 6-4, 6-4 win over Konstantina Adamopoulou at No. 5. Sophomore Frida Weijerman pushed the lead to 3-1 after a 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 3 over Kiera Taylor. Senior Audrey Smitek picked up the match-winning point at No. 2, with a 5-7, 6-3, 3-2 win after Qianyu Liu had to retire in the third set. 

The fifth and final point came from Polina Khotko, who picked up a 6-4, 2-6, 6-1 win at No. 6 over Leticia Fonseca.

Western Michigan is back in action on Friday, hosting MAC-leaders UMASS at 12 p.m.
